Overton Hotel and Conference Center

Food was excellent! Our server was Clair and she had great recommendations and knew the menu items well. Very pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Great lunch spot!

We attended a Celebration of Life catered dinner party at the Overton last night. The food was very good, and Clay and the rest of the bar and wait staff were excellent! They were pleasant and attentive throughout the entire evening, and seemed to anticipate any needs we might have.

The staff do a great job. Special thanks to Emma at the restaurant.

(1) Check-in - Just checked id then gave us a key. No direction to elevators or hotel amenities. I had to ask. (2) We upgraded to a top level suite at $1100 for 3 nights. Fairly expensive, so we expected better. Bedroom curtain was broken, so we couldn't open window; shower had mold/mildew; chair had something sticky on the arm; general cleaning was mediocre. (3) We called "at your service" several times for standard items that should be available such as housekeeping, extra blanket, shampoo, soap, coffee. Called a total of 4 times and we were assured it would be handled -- NOTHING was handled. Each time we had to make several requests for these items. Housekeeping came only 1 time over the 3 night stay, even though we requested it every day. Trash cans overflowed, shampoo was non-existent, towels, soaps, coffee, water was not restocked. We had to go to the desk to get everything. We got towels one day and they told us to put the old towels outside the door -- no one picked them up and they stayed there the entire stay. At the price we paid, I would expect much better service. Very disappointed...

4/18/2026 We had flown in at 11:30am for our daughter’s ring ceremony at Texas Tech. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 only to be told we could not do early check in which we requested 2 months in advance. We then had to go kill time as the hostess told us to come back at 2:00pm. We did come back at 2:30pm and the room was not ready. It took me becoming upset then they had a room ready at 3:00pm. The experience was not good and we will most likely not stay here again. The staff were rude and not accommodating. The rooms are antiquated and were not clean. This hotel needs a facelift in many areas as we have traveled the world and this was one of our worst hotel experiences. 4/20/2026 Hotel Restaurant “Pecan Grill” Kylin S. did a great job and was very personable. We have our annual conference at the Overton every year since 2023. It's a fabulous experience and the staff takes such good care of us! Rachel, Olivia and Peyton have always been wonderful to work with and Eli and Caden do an exceptional job taking care of me on the day of the main event!

Well, I have been here a couple of times. The food is always off, the wait time is mainly slow, but I have always had friendly service. However, on my last visit I went down for breakfast. The buffet was decent and the service was great. Kylin was my server. From before I sat down she greeted me, offered coffee and gave me my eating options. She checked on me throughout my sit. Let me know when the buffet was ending, and brought me a to-go cup of coffee. Kylin gave me the best service I have had in that restaurant. Great job.

Eric was absolutely amazing! We were a handful with a billion questions and he handled us with so much grace and care!! A wonderful server
