If you're looking for a short summary, when we arrived we were given 3 different rooms until we found a barely half decent one. All three rooms had hair in the sink, shower, beds, and on the toilet. Rusty fridges, broken room service phones, stains on EVERYTHING. Barely lukewarm water after 5 minutes of running. Leftover swimsuit from previous guest. Contacted hotel on 4 different occasions and was told we could not receive refunds. Filed credit card dispute and was denied. Manager must not exist, because we could never reach them. If you want to feel clean, this is not a good hotel to stay at.
Before I get into it, each corresponding photo I've attached has a number, and that number will be referenced in the review to show evidence of the poor stature of our rooms.
Now, to really get into the story, we had booked to stay at this hotel from 03/26/2026 - 04/01/2026, requesting a king size bed. We saw the reviews were pretty good, and had heard good things about Hilton hotels in the past.
When we arrived, the hotel lobby was very clean. The worker at the front (I believe he may have been in his 30s, a Hispanic man with cool hair) was extremely attentive and nice to us. After we headed to our room using the rickety and slow elevator, we found a dirty used bathing suit in front of our room's door. We kicked it aside, and inspected the room like every stay we go to.
In this first room we found hair in the shower, sink, and on the toilet (pictures 1, 2 and 3). After inspecting our bed, under the mattress was what looked like dried throw up on the box spring (picture 4). After heading downstairs to request a new room, the man who helped us provided us a key to a new room with the king size bed we requested.
In the second room, we found hair in the shower, sink, and on the toilet. This time, we also found hair in the bed sheets (pictures 5, 6 and 7). We didn't want to walk all the way back to the front desk again, so we tried using the phone, which was broken.
After requesting a new room for the third time, the associate came upstairs with us to inspect the rooms himself, and he even agreed how in poor condition they were, taking pictures to provide his manager later.
The third and final room we were given had two queen beds, as another king room was unavailable. This room also had hair on the toilet, in the sink and shower. This room had a stain on the second queen bed's box spring, which almost looked like spilled makeup (picture 8), and we avoided it almost entirely due to it, just like the last room, being covered in hair. After inspecting the fridge we found it to be rusty and cracked on the inside (pictures 9 and 10). There were stains all over the carpet, so if you chose not to wear shoes you were dodging them to keep your socks clean. There was this really obvious red one in front of the fridge that looked like Kool-Aid. There were stains on our chair in the room. The water in the room did not reach more than a lukewarm temperature, even after 5 minutes of running.
After spending an hour in our final room looking at replacement hotels in the area, we knew we could not afford to stay anywhere else that night, and that we knew this hotel would fight us on giving a refund. It being already late, we decided to stay just one night. After leaving in the morning we let the front desk associate know we were checking out early. He provided us a corporate phone number to call regarding our unfortunate stay.
When we got to our car we called the number, and were asked to call back the next day, Monday 03/30/2026, as the manager was not in on weekends. On the 30th we called again, and were told that they didn't know when the manager would be in that day. Frustrated with the situation, I told them to have the manager call me which they agreed to, because we had no clue when this manager would be in. After not receiving a call, on the 31st we called again, and this time were given the manager's email. On 04/02/2026 I emailed the manager and have not received a response yet.
After this experience I filed a credit card dispute, providing evidence of the poor room quality. The dispute was denied the next day.
If you want to sleep in a clean room, then I would recommend avoiding this hotel. The price may be enticing, but paying a little more to stay at a better hotel closer to NYC will definitely be worth your while. I will update this review if the hotel decides to contact me, but my opinion of their service will not change. The pictures Hilton uses to advertise the Garden Inn line are in stark contrast to what they are actually offering. This will be our first and last time staying at a Hilton.
