Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Texarkana East by IHG

Unfriendly staff told us (possibly jokingly) we had the penthouse (4th floor) Door to our unit looks like it had been opened at one time with a pry bar, beds are old and uncomfortable, carpets are dirty, shower head is busted on one side and water just pours out, turn on valve goes in circles a couple of times before water comes on, plugs for phones on lamps do not work, coffee maker makes cold coffee. Breakfast was decent, but gravy had too much flour and not enough milk. So there it is!

The employees where great

The pool was closed they say for renovations the rooms smelled like mold the beds are rock hard. The carpet in the room was torn up bleach stains down the whole hallway I could have stayed at a cheaper hotel and been more comfortable

The staff was very courteous and professional. The area was nice.

I didn't like the room that I was in, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The restroom had a damaged wall. And I couldnt close the restroom door all the way, I had to force it closed.

We were welcomed by Ms Erica with a smile and a great attitude

Overall, the facility was nice and the breakfast was good.

The staff seemed to have trouble getting us registered. I'm not sure what the problem was. They just seemed a little scattered. One of our rooms had hair in the bathtub which made us feel like the room hadn't been cleaned well.

The property was in a good location

The carpets needed a good deep clean and room needed dusty.

While the staff was friendly and respectful, the hospital room left a lot to be desired. The room was clean but in disrepair. The ceramic tiles in the bathroom were loose due to the grout being broken and missing in places. The breakfast that you expect from a hie was not even close. The regular breakfast items were not available and had not been there for some time and they were unable to get any. I could go on and on. The people there were bright enough we were not unpleasef.

Check in was great. The clerk was very friendly. Breakfast was average. No cinnamon rolls which is a favorite of ours.
