The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans - Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts

The property was nice. The rooms were nice but not special for the price. The coffee bar was super in the room. The decor and quality of bathroom fixtures weren’t special.

We traveled to New Orleans with our teen, so guaranteed connecting rooms was the deciding factor in selecting the Roosevelt for our stay. What good fortune for us. We were awed by the beautiful lobby. The hospitable service was delightful from the moment we arrived - special shout out to the doorman who shared homemade peanut butter cookies with us. The location is ideal to catch streetcars in either direction and we enjoyed the easy access to the French Quarter while also being outside of the main action. The combo one bedroom suite plus connecting bedroom gave us all plenty of space for both togetherness and privacy. Notably, sleep was easy with the thick blackout curtains that blocked light and noise. We ate a meal at each of the restaurants, and were happy foodwise and for the ease of a convenient spot to start or end our day. Yes, bathrooms are small, there are aspects of the interior finishes that are showing their age (much like most grande dames), and we experienced a service glitch or two. On balance, we would happily stay at the Roosevelt again.

The Pool staff were amazing!! The Hotel overall has a very nice vibe!

Although we stated it was my birthday there wasn’t any welcome message or anything to personalize our stay. There was a room on our floor that sounded like had a party with lot of noise and yelling at 2-3am.

Really disappointed. Had booked 2 rooms and chatted with the hotel via the app to request connecting rooms. Was told the second room had to be ungraded at a higher rate to make it connecting. I agreed and was told it was done. Check in and see our rooms are not connecting (not even next to each other - across the hall from each other). Went back down to front desk. They just shrugged and said they didn’t have connecting rooms and they had no record of me requesting them. No apology. Left the hotel right away and went to the JW Mariott who accommodated us right away. The next day I spoke to Travis (front desk manager) who said he could see my request but couldn’t explain why they just did the step of upgrading one room but not making them connecting. Again just shrug - not even a hint of an apology. Didn’t expect this level of incompetence and complete lack of customer Svc from a Waldorf Astoria hotel, especially as a Hilton gold member. No regard for the fact that I had to move my family to a different hotel because they didn’t do their jobs right. Definitely going to escalate this the property’s GM and to corporate. They need to know how bad this customer experience was.

Eric and Joseph at the front desk are professionals among professionals. Deeply knowledgeable, warm and welcoming, genuine and warm. I’ve traveled the world and never been treated better in any hotel motel or holiday inn. Whatever these two are paid, it’s far short of what they deserve. I hope you are as lucky to be greeted by them when you arrive at your stay

We were celebrating our 53rd Wedding.Anniversary at the Roosevelt. Our accommodations were excellent thanks to Crystal and Jasmine for the suite. Special thanks to Kent at front desk. The wine and beautiful hand written card was greatly appreciated! You helped make our trip so memorable. Highly recommend the Roosevelt.

Although the lobby is visually impressive with its glittering design, it does not compensate for the outdated amenities, such as old elevators and shower fixtures. I was under the impression that the Waldorf association would reflect a higher standard; however, the rooms appear dated and my experience with the elevator was particularly unsatisfactory. Only one elevator was operational, and it functioned poorly—at one point, several guests and I were briefly stuck before it resumed movement. Based on these experiences, I do not anticipate returning to this establishment in the future.

Currently staying at the beautiful hotel. It’s a classic. Very opulent. Beautiful rooms with great service. What’s not to like!
