It was our first Mardi experience and it did not disappoint! We loved being in all the action !!! John fox shared where we would be able to watch parades better with children towards the garden district ! Marshall surprised us with beignets and Fred with diving for toys in the special bin! Truly it was the best trip for our family that we will never forget our first Mardi Gras !

If you're looking for luxury, here it is! But it doesn't stop there; all the staff made the trip for us. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. No detail skipped. We spent more time in our hotel than we usually do, just because 1. it is so beautiful and 2. we just loved all the staff experiences. Thank you to Trey, Bleu, ,T and Jasmine for helping make our trip so memorable.

Best hotel in New Orleans. We always look forward to our stay at the Roosevelt. First class service all the way. From check-in, to housekeeping, to the suite, to the Sazerac Bar. It’s all A+.

Just finished another stay at the Roosevelt for a couple days during Mardi Gras. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and felt that the service during this stay was not as strong as previous stays. Housekeeping was late or not at all one day, no turn down service, and extremely slow room service without good communication. When the expectation is stated when placing an order that it will be slow, no problem. But when it is handled the opposite way, it is not good for the guest. I booked the stay months in advance using Hilton points for 4 people in my room. Upon check in, the front desk agent tried to tell me the room was for 2 people and for the 2 more there would be a $40 per person per night charge. I stayed during the same Mardi Gras weekend last year with points and was not met with this cash grab. Obviously I pushed back on this and a manager appeared and waived the charge. I did not appreciate this seemingly dishonest tactic to get cash. Overall, I will keep choosing the Roosevelt. The hotel is swamped during the peak season of Mardi Gras which I do understand. However, it was a different experience from my Mardi Gras stay last year, which I do feel is a fair comparison.

We stayed at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans for Valentine’s Day, expecting the level of professionalism and security that a luxury, Waldorf-affiliated property claims to uphold. What we experienced instead was shocking and unacceptable. This is not the first time we have had issues at this hotel—but this visit confirmed a serious and ongoing problem with guest property security and staff accountability. One week prior to our Valentine’s stay, my wife had been at the hotel and scheduled a late checkout (4:00 PM). She accidentally left a hot curling iron in the room to cool. Due to extreme traffic and the fact that we were already returning the following weekend, she immediately called the hotel and asked that the item be retrieved and held at the front desk. She was later told the curling iron was “not there,” despite being informed that the room had not yet been cleaned. At 2:00 PM, before housekeeping had entered, the item had already “disappeared.” We were disappointed but chose to give the hotel another chance. On February 13, 2026, during our Valentine’s weekend stay—again with a confirmed late checkout—we left early in the morning for a spa appointment at the Four Seasons. During her massage, my wife realized she had accidentally left a $3,500 Van Cleef necklace in our Roosevelt hotel room. At approximately 12:30 PM, well before checkout and while the room was still supposed to be secured, we immediately contacted hotel security. Because of Mardi Gras traffic it would have taken several hours to drive back and at least an hour to walk back. Security claimed they had “checked the room” and found nothing. When my wife called back seeking clarity, she was met with dismissive and rude responses, including statements such as “we know what we are doing” and “we are not going back to check.” No empathy, no escalation, no effort. To make matters worse, we have a family member who lives directly across the street and offered to come over immediately to look for the necklace. The hotel refused to allow this. This represents a pattern of missing personal property, combined with hostile and unprofessional handling by security staff, and a complete lack of guest advocacy. For a hotel of this caliber, this is deeply concerning. I strongly recommend that anyone considering staying at The Roosevelt do not leave personal belongings in your room—ever. Based on our experience, you will not recover them, and you should not expect meaningful assistance from hotel management or security. Luxury is not just chandeliers and history—it is trust. Unfortunately, The Roosevelt failed completely

As longtime guests of The Roosevelt Hotel, it is very upsetting to say that after two separate stays where personal belongings went missing from our room — including an expensive necklace — we will never stay here again. This is extremely disappointing and deeply concerning. We are considering filing a police report and urge future guests to be very cautious with their valuables.

One of the Grand Dames of New Orleans. Great staff. Rooms very comfortable. Great bars. Near the French Quarter. One of my go -to hotels in NO. I highly recommend!
