"Most amazing hotel!"

10.0

This was the most outstanding place I've ever stayed! The artistic environment was absolutely breathtaking! The art all over, the rooftop deck, the outdoor patios and the bar were fantastic! If you're looking for a Hilton, this is not your place. If you want something old with character and class, this is THE place for you! The owner Jan is one of the sweetest people on the island.

Base on what I saw on the website conditions were unacceptable when we arrived. Given the fact we got in at 3am and hotel knew inadvance to expect us at that time my husband and I had to wait approximately 15mins at the front gate calling for someone to open up. If you think things weren't bad enough we were told that we could not throw toilet paper in the toilet due to old pipe lines, we had to throw it in the waste bin! Which we thought was unsanitary. I get it there are some people that like Rustic Art and given the fact this hotel resides in Ole San Juan I did appreciate the culture and scenic view but please a few modern improvements would be nice e.g telephone in the room , tv...... I would not recommend this hotel to no one that I know.

"Artsy Hotel with a beautiful view."

10.0

Hotel is very artsy. Our room is was outside one of the gardens which is located in the front entrance. So there are pet birds from the property and birds flying in to get away from the sun and bath in water features. I thought it would be a problem with them making noises and waking us up in the early AM but surprising hardly any noise. Walking inside the hotel is a gem. This is more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. No TVs in the rooms which I liked. No distractions and you take in the serene setting. It is also very close in walking distance to all attractions, restaurants and stores. No need to rent a car if you are staying in this location.

Very old, unique property! Public areas are great, beautiful. Our room was small. The water was lukewarm for the shower and the walls were thin. We could here almost everything from the room next door, including the phone ringing at 5:30 am. Owner very friendly and the bar area at night lively.

"Be wary of the hotel rating!"

4.0

We decided to stay here because it is a wonderful location near many historical sites and had a good rating on Hotels.com. However, this is the first time we have been disappointed in the ratings on this website. The inn is in poor condition with large uneven gaps in the ceiling, awkward staircases to navigate luggage, uncomfortable bedding, and not very clean. On the positive side, we were treated to a nice classical piano concert in the music room by a talented young musician.

"18th Century Charm - artist inspired!"

10.0

This hotel delighted and amazed me! I immediately felt at home and comfortable. The view from the rooftop terrace was awesome. Every corner had a unique perspective. So many places to gather with friends or simply gather your thoughts among beautiful places and artwork. My travelling companion wasn't as pleased with some of the more unusual features - stone floors, multiple flights of stairs - but I was enchanted.
