The Gallery Inn

This is a unique experience. I was very pleased that we had selected this property and would and probably will book it again. Imagine a number of old houses connected internally to form a twenty seven room hotel with lots of little public spaces in which you can often be the only travelers present. Imagine nightly live music performed by talented locals. Imagine spaces full of art, as well as three baby and one concert grands. Very happy with our stay!

Well here goes. I booked this hotel based on the review of others. I'm not sure who or what those people were but could not be normal or real people: my belief. First off, the price quoted you will not be what they charge you. They will add 11% "resort fee" (they call it a tax which it is not) for the use of the pool (tiny wading pool, nice to look at but unusable), internet in the lobby (didn't work) and "breakfast" which amounted to luke warm, bad coffee and some plastic pastries. I missed this, it was in the "small print" under hotel info and not what Hotels.com quoted as the "total amount". I guess "total" means something different to them tan me. Next the hotel: location is awesome. That is the last and only real positive thing I can say. This place has great potential but is quite a mess. Dirty. Oddly configured rooms. Ours had absolutely no space for us to put our luggage (barely room for the bed) and had to climb a a set of stairs to get to our bathroom where something from above dripped on us. (yes, ich!!!) The place and people have a strange arrogance about it. Caught up in their pianos and classical music but not so much on keeping the place clean and decent. It is a museum that has not been maintained. I really wanted this place to be a positive part of our experience in San Juan. It was part of our experience but not the way any of our group of six would have liked. Last thing there are steps EVERYWHERE!! If you have any mobility issues...

Very unique accommodations. Worth staying at least one night before or after a cruise.

The gallery is beautiful. Intriguing art everywhere you turn.

Perfect location Incredible treatment

Such a beautiful and unique hotel! It was fun to explore the hotel and see the exotic birds. It was very clean and the staff was so accommodating and friendly. Close to everything and I felt very safe. Cons is that there is no tv in the room, and the free breakfast sucked lol. But neither of that was a deal breaker.

Totally amazing. Totally worth this price. It will be your unforgettable memory for your trip.

Very interesting place. Lots to look at. Full of art and like a maze of bedrooms and hallways.

The inn it’s self is GORGEOUS and the owner and staff are fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!
