The Ahwahnee

Don’t go to Yosemite for the food. You’ll be very disappointed.

The dinner we had at the hotel was awful. I understand the kitchen is under construction. Your still charging full price the food should be edible.

Beautiful location. We got a very nice room. Not crowded at all.

Lots under construction but we were forewarned

Would have been better if Expedia offered the same deal as the hotel. The hotel was offering pay for 2 nights and get the third for free. Didn’t find out until we arrived at the hotel and the hotel would not honor rate because of booking with Expedia. Expedia didn’t show parking was $30 per night.

The only reason for staying at ANY property including the Ahwahnee is convenience. Stay outside the valley and you add an hour driving trip both ways, morning and evening.

This would be a 2-3 star hotel in Australia but here in the USA it is masquerading as a 5 star! You now pay US$30/ day for vehicle parking. They take US$200/day as a deposit for damage etc on top of the daily rate. They must get a lot of shonky clients that do runners! Never been asked for this in any hotel in Australia and I frequent 5 star establishments. Undergoing refurbishment so dining room is a disaster. They should have paid us to eat breakfast there not charged US$32 + tax + tip for cold food and a freezing dining room. Eat at the sister hotel - Yosemite Valley Lodge - awesome steak. Perfect. Apparently the hotel rooms are not going to be updated. Let me he clear - the staff are wonderful but management need a rocket.

Being in Yosemite is always a treat. Staying at the Ahwannee is the icing on the cupcake. Such luxury in a very special National Park.

We needed a second blanket and they would not provide it for fear it would be stolen. The mattress on the pullout couch is very thin and you feel every spring. This the request for a second blanket for padding.

Yosemite it beautiful

The cabin was run down, in need of a deep clean, renovation, upgrades , cold, many features not running properly. Over priced!!!! Some staff were lovely some crabby! 6 staff personnel in the Restaurant called off work on that Saturday do night couldn't get a table in to restaurants because of this! Bummer!!!!

We had a fabulous visit at the Ahwahnee! What a location!!
