Allegro Madeira - Adults Only - Member of Barceló Hotel Group

Super location with plenty of excellent restaurants, bars and shopping amenities within a 5 minute walk. About a 20-30 minute walk to old town Funchal, but its a mostly flat and scenic walk. The hotel has open air roof top bar with amazing views in every direction. The pool was larger than what we expected (compared to the pictures on the website) with plenty of loungers. We enjoyed spending time by the pool although the poolside service was really lacking and we had to walk to the bar inside the hotel if we wanted a drink or food. They should improve that. We had a ocean view junior suite which was really nice. It had a nice size balcony with enough room for a table and a couple of chairs. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine and look out over the ocean. The room was spacious and clean. Front desk reception were super friendly and always helpful when needed. Buffet breakfast was included and there was a good selection of hot and cold items. We enjoyed our stay and would return to Allegro Madeira.

Just got back from 5 nights at this hotel. Honestly very good hotel, the rooms are quite modern and lovely and clean, the cleaners did a fab job with the daily cleaning as well. As you wonder around the hotel it all appears very well maintained. Good location, a bit far to walk into the centre of Funchal but there’s a bus stop just outside so super easy to get around. Also lots of restaurants nearby and little shops, there’s the lido at the bottom of the hill as well. Near a fairly busy road but we didn’t find this to be an issue overnight. The breakfast was pretty good, decent variety I’d imagine everyone would be able to find something they’d enjoy there. The fried eggs and the personalised omelette station was fab. The staff were all super friendly and willing to help you, very attentive. I’m not sure if it was just the time of year but there was always sun loungers available by the pool no matter the time of day, only downside was there’s nearby construction which was a bit loud but not a fault of the hotel. There’s QR codes and little buttons to push by the loungers for ordering drinks however we couldn’t get this to work so we just went into the bar to order our poolside drinks. Shoutout to the rooftop bar, lovely experience and the staff Javier and Andrie took fabulous care of us, they remembered our order and always had a smile to greet us. Only issue we had while staying was that our safe stopped working which was unfortunate as it meant we had to carry our passports around with us and we felt a bit uneasy as we had to leave very expensive camera equipment in the unlocked safe. Nothing was touched though and it was really a minor inconvenience and a shame they were unable to fix it during our stay. Another good point is you can pay to use the car park so we were able to hire a car for multiple days and feel safe leaving it parked overnight for a reasonable price. Overall a great hotel which I would stay at again.

I would like to thank hotel Allegro personnel for their hospitality and friendly attitude. I had completely enjoyed my stay at this hotel and if i will visit Madeira next time - definitely book a room there. Perfect room, tasty food, advanced location, all my vacation demands were satisfied.

Location was great with the ocean, shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Pool was clean and relaxing with the bar being open and easy. Breakfast was amazing.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Clean room and friendly staff. Perfect breakfast, very goed dinner (if you wish). Many nice restaurants in the surroundings.

Absolutely amazing experience. Staff always went above and beyond. A tip for the beds: ask reception to make them into a double and this will be sorted the following day by cleaners! Bar staff do not get the credit they deserve, the 3 lads on the bar were amazing and attentive at all times. It does get busy up there and some days there was only one man working but he even still managed to provide the most amazing looking cocktails and good service to people despite the pressure

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Great location. Plenty of bars/restaurants in walking distance. Not too far to walk into Funchal
