Jardim do Vau

We stayed five nights in 2 bedroom apartment in January 2025. We like the quiet location, amenities, and its own beach. Central enough to drive to all the spots in Algarve. Note that you will need to spend 5 euro for skull caps if you want to use the pool. The kitchen was well stocked. My only complaint is that the beds were not comfy for me (this is however subjective to everyone). We would stay here again.

Being low season it was very quiet, there were some lovely walks, the beach was raked daily, the people were very pleasant and it was easy to get around by taxi. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were great and when the restaurant was open it was very good. We heartily recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in our very spacious two bed/two bath! We didn’t have a view of the ocean but it was a short walk around the building in front to the coastline. The area is pretty busy, several dining options available.

Calm location, great swimmingpool (Deep for it is adres value) . We nevernhad a problem to find a spot at the pool. Rooms are big enough. Nice service. The Beach is outstanding. Long walk to the city but duable. Taxi cost approx 7 euros to the city. Highway recommended place

Holiday | Family Reception - Was welcomed by this woman called ELSA. She made us feel like Portuguese people lack hospitality skills. What an arrogant, miserable looking, rude snapy receptionist. I don't know how this hotel uses this woman as a first point of contact. She immediately makes you feel like you weren't supposed to be there. At first I thought it was just that we were tired... until during our stay I spoke to other guests who said the same thing. Food - DONT BOOK THE FOOD. ITS HORRIBLE!!! The owner needs to stop being tight fisted and bring some company that can make your guests enjoy their stay. The food is horrible and doesn't represent Portugal in any way. We ended up spending more money eating in the town and it was so worth it. You have a beautifully located hotel... just spend a bit more money for a better experience Waiters - NUNO and NADIA saved our holiday. They were so lovely. I hope they get a raise. Very personable. If they were at the reception.... guests would have a better experience. PAY ATTENTION TO THE THINGS YOU IGNORE. IT'S A LOVELY HOTEL THAT NEEDS PEOPLE WHO CARE. !!!

We visited Jardim do Vau for 12 days in December for Christmas . 2 adults 3 children . First impressions weren't very good as the exterior and overall look of the hotel look very dated. The lift is very small. We stayed in block D room 109. There is a bit of a sea view however the block infront cuts out the view. The 2 bed apartment was quite spacious, very clean and included good facilities such as a washer dryer and a dishwasher. However we had issues with the kettle. It never switched off when boiled. Other room issues were the toilets, one didn't flush well and the other didn't seem to stop flushing ! The bedding smelt really nice, bed was comfortable however mattress did have hard springs. The tv has a good range of channels including sky sports , Disney, cbeebies, sky news, itv , BBC . There's a manual on the tv (somewhere above channel 118 I think!) you'll find it useful as you don't get any info at check it. The kids enjoyed the onsite park. There's a huge trampoline, swings, slide , roundabout and see-saw. The beach is beautiful. The main negative is the hotel is very noisy...the walls-floors-ceilings are very thin that you hear everybody else. At night all we could hear was people stamping across the floors and furniture being scraped along the floor which resulted in us not sleeping very well!! Maybe we were just unfortunate to be placed under a family of elephants and people who liked to stay up all night... The indoor swimming pool has strict rules. No inflatables and swimming caps must be worn. They provide these for 4 euro each. Sauna and steam room is 5 euro. There's a mini shop at the hotel. It's quite small and not much choice but you will use it as there's no other close shops nearby. It's a steep uphill walk to praia da rocha, around 20 mins, where there is shops , restaurants and fast food. We used uber to get around as it was quick and easy. We visited lagos zoo which was nice, it's around 30 mins away and costs around 22-30 euro in uber. The fishing village Alvor is nearby but very quiet and not much to do there unless you want a different scene and a nice seafood restaurant . Overall it's OK and good if you want a rural hotel with nice walks and beaches. I would have rated it a 4 but the noise and lack of sleep due to the noise brings it to a 3 .

The room was nice and clean. It had the right size for a family with a kid. Facilitates were also good enough and complete for such a short stay. The access was easy and plenty of free parking places.

The WiFi was almost disconnected. Supper slow connection and often disconnected.

The location was good.

We could hear a lot of noise early in the morning.
