Hotel Hanselewirt

Hotel Hanselewirt was the perfect place to stay in Schwangau. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived and my room was adorable complete with a view of the Castle. The breakfast was good as well. If I am ever in Schwangau again I will certainly return to Hotel Hanselewirt.

Lovely stay at a very homely guesthouse style hotel. Easy parking and the breakfast was great with a lot of local products. Would have been better if the double bed was a single one rather than two single mattresses put together but overall a great stay. Also some good places to eat nearby. Would stay again.

We loved this hotel right in the village, it was perfect for us. The great option of pre booking for the castle tours and all the information on what to do to get there was spot on. You also get a free bus pass during your stay which we loved. Also the hotel gives you the option of buying passes for the Therma Spa which is a short walk down the street. A short bus ride into Fussen is a must as well. I also loved the local brewery down the street which has a terrace with a view of the castles, what could be better. The included breakfast was fantastic as well the coffee is amazing.

The hosts went above and beyond by offering pre-purchase of tickets to Neuschwanstein and other local places of interests. They gave us a ride to the ticket-center when we were spotted waiting for a bus that wouldn't come and we could also leave our luggage for most of the day after checking out. It was further really nice to have a water-kettle in the room to make tea ;-)

Customer service is not great, I found the man manning the reception on the morning we left almost outright rude. The lady (proprietor?) was more welcoming.

Neuschwanstein Castle is so close from here and yet this village has its own charm. Lovely setting and this inn has a great restaurant.
