The Payogan Villa Resort & Spa

We stayed three nights at payogan. We were being offered to upgrade to pool villa at $50 per night at the check in. We were hesitating and in the end the girl gave us discount $50 for three nights. The swimming pool looks dirty and the bed sheet wasn't change throughout our stay I got bed big bite. The location is far from Ubud centre and the shuttle bus service is limited. We rented scooter from the hotel for 80,000 rupiah which is twice more expensive than outside. The only plus point is the staff are friendly.

My husband and I stayed there for 5 nights and it was one of the most serene places we've ever stayed at. We had one of the newer rooms with a pool facing the villa. The resort was exactly like how we imagined - quiet, beautiful, and out of the ordinary. The staff were very nice. There's a free shuttle that brought us to Ubud (however, it's not so frequent so you will have to time yourself). There's complimentary afternoon tea everyday with Balinese cakes which was nice. Room service last call was until only 10pm. Only issue was that there were little lizards in our room which we were not very used to, but ended up only seeing them first night.

We stayed here at the beginning of our Bali adventure, and it was perfect. Private pool overlooking the valley, outdoor shower and bath were so relaxing. We had treatments in the spa and they were amongst the best I have had! Food was good, but nothing to rave about. I would have no qualms of returning or encouraging others to do the same!

The staff where excellent, I would recommend this resort to everyone

Stayed there for 2 nights, most of the time the wifi was not working, only working the last couple hours before I left. That gave me bit inconvenience but it was still ok because I could go to the centre and used the wifi. The most irritating thing was the AC in the bedroom was not working. The AC wa super noisy in the first night and I didn't sleep at all. I talked to the staff the next day and she said she would send someone to look after. Eventually she said the technician was not able to fix it and she could change the room for me. I told her since I only stayed for another night and I didn't want to move again. But I made the wrong decision. When I went back to the room I found the AC in the bedroom was shut off. It was very late and I was so tired and bit drunk and I decided to sleep in the couch in the living room. I talked to the girl who spoke with me the night before. I said if I knew the AC was shut off I would have changed the room instead. Long story short, I think it's all about the language barrier and miscommunication. I still recommend this hotel to my friends anyway.

A great hotel for families. We had a two bedroom villa with private pool and it was amazing. The room was enormous and the pool area beautiful

We only stayed one night but the beautiful setting and very friendly staff! Would love to go back.

The Payogan is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen or stayed at, with a great location outside busy Ubud. The staff very friendly and accommodating. The villa with pool outstanding in size and comfort, with a great view. The pool area is gorgeous, as is all the hotel. Very minor maintenance issues and a good buffet breakfast, although food at the restaurant is just OK (we had lunch and dinner one time during our stay). A short 10 minute taxi ride or bus shuttle to downtown Ubud. A great, wonderful option when in that incredible place.
