Hôtel Restaurant de la Poste et du Lion d'Or

One of the nicest hotels in France. Great staff, clean rooms, excellent restaurant. Right at the foot of the town, where the Main Street begins.

+ Having air-conditioning on the hottest week of the year. - Poor breakfast; had to ask for croissants and then only 2 small pastries arrived

The entire hotel was extra lovely. The location was perfect for the town as well as driving to other locations. The room was lovely as well as the roomiest bathroom.

Great location. Our triple bedroom had an amazing countryside view. Reception service and service overall was very friendly - maybe a little bit on the formal side. The main downside was the food. The food at the fine dining restaurant was overpriced for the quality (compared to the Cheval Blanc next door, for example), and the breakfast buffet had little choice. Also, the WIFI was a little weak.

A fantastic place and area in which to spend time. Great food and wine too! Only negative was insufficient cupboard/wardrobe space for hanging clothes. We spent a week in the hotel whereas it seemed to be the sort of area where people spend one or two nights before moving on. As a base for exploring the area we found everything to our liking!

The hotel was well located, fresh and clean. The staff were excellent.
