Charming historic hotel and a lovely breakfast. Short drive into Taunton centre.

Excellent value. Olde listed building. Exceptional Breakfast.

Broadband patchy (not a suprise), only awkward due to needing a strong connection for uploading work files. Towels could do with replacing.

Room clean & comfortable. Good food. Great location. Good parking.

Ordered drinks both came with flat coke which was poured out of a large bottle.cans would guarantee quality of soft drinks.a

You could park easily. Breakfast was good.

The rude and abrupt owner. Our room (3) was small, tired, furniture was just old and tatty definitely not antique. I have no idea how old the mattress could be- I was too scared to look. The room was not very clean. The bathroom towels were a disgrace. Steep step up to reach the shower over the bath ( shower wasn’t attached securely to the wall either) no grab rails or non slip mat provided. An old shower curtain. It needs a serious refurbishment. The owner was cross that we had booked via booking.com, (she said they are a fraudulent company!!) and we should have booked through her. On checkout she tried to charge me an extra £34 which she explained was the commission charge that she would have to pay to booking.com as I had booked through them! She said that was only fair to her. Needless to say I refused and only paid the amount that I had been given when I made the original booking. We were attending a party being held in the hotel hence our booking, otherwise we would haver checked out immediately.

Great location and lovely breakfast

The location was perfect and very quiet. The staff were delightful and very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful and I didn't need to eat again until the evening. Everything was freshly cooked to a high standard and delivered on hot plates.
