What a gem of a hotel nestled on a quiet road leading down to the beach about 15 mins outside Torquay. We had a lovely room at the top of the house with a little sun terrace. The room was lovely, clean, nice en-suite and all amenities provided. We had dinner at the restaurant, 3 course meal and the standard was exceptional, my fillet steak was to die for. Breakfast was equally fabulous and the service was impeccable. The staff did everything to make our stay very enjoyable with a shout out to Craig, Karen and Molly. Will definitely be back

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at this beautiful hotel. We had a superior room with a terrace with views of the sea, a fantastic evening meal, steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in any aspect of our stay. Will definitely return.

The staff are extremely friendly and the grounds are amazing to walk around. Absolutely beautiful and well kept building situated in a lovely part of Devon. Well worth to see well worth taking part two for a romantic time away.

Property is a stylish and comfortable "country house" style hotel. Staff were helpful. Dinner in the evening was excellent.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in April 2025. The hotel has lovely views across the bay, and a terrace to relax on when it’s a bit warmer! However, the greeting from the hotel staff is very warm, and they are all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room (with a view of the bay) was very comfortable, and the toiletries are of high quality. We had breakfast and evening meal on each day, and in our opinion the meals were exceptional. We shall have no hesitation in rebooking next time we visit the area. Definitely recommended!

We received a warm welcome from this characterful country house hotel nestled in the steep slopes above Maidencombe beach. The hotel has an attractive sea-facing terrace located over a pleasant garden and ample parking. Our 'Superior' room was spacious, comfortable, well presented and spotlessly clean. The hotel had many positives but the standout feature had to be the quality of our 3 course dinner which was exceptional. The waiting staff were prompt, personable and professional. A short but sweet one night stay for us we hope to repeat. As a middle-aged couple we felt very comfortable in the relaxed but upbeat atmosphere of this friendly hotel.

This was a perfect weekend stay. Friday to Monday On the Friday night we attended a 'Murder Mystery Evening'. This was a an excellent evening of entertainment with delicious food and drink. Breakfast every morning was of an excellent standard and there was every thing could could possibly want On the Saturday it was my wife's birthday and in the restaurant that evening she was presented from the hotel a 'Happy Birthday work of art from the kitchen. Which was a very nice gesture much appreciated. Our steaks where cooked to perfection and they just melted in your mouth. On the Sunday we had arranged a family and friends 'Sunday Lunch' which was gorgeously cooked and plentiful. We were sat in the conservatory which has beautiful views. This hotel is perfect in many ways, on the outskirts of Torquay in Maidencombe. It's ambience is lovely, the public rooms are extremely relaxed but very well appointed. The conservatory and restaurant has wonderful views and the outdoor terrace overlooks the lovely gardens and the sea. One of the best things is the staff and the service they offer. They are all very attentive, polite and work extremely hard to ensure your stay is faultless. The service is excellent but not in your face. It is a small team but they know how to make your stay special. We stayed in Room 1 the Garden Room Suite which was lovely. It had a wonderfully large four poster bed, which was very comfortable. The room was very well appointed with sea views. The luxurious bathroom had both a bath and a walk-in shower furnished to a very high standard. The 'Jacuzzi' hot-tub was used daily. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained and of course had lovely sea and garden views. This is one of those hotels that are becoming rare, it is individual, very well appointed, small and personable with an excellent restaurant and staff. One that we hope to return to.
