The beach, one of the best in Mauritius. The staff is super nice and helpful! The hotel has plenty of sea sport activities. The food in the hotel restaurants is great!

I booked two rooms and I don't for what reason one of the rooms was cancelled from the property one week prior to my arrival. It's a shame this kind of things happen without writing an email.

Kayaking with turtles and relaxing at Ambre! Singh, Sumali, Hassan, Sanjik, Nissar, Deepak, Jack, the whole water sport team and all the other staff members who I’m not mentioning here are one of the best team units. This was our 2nd visit to Ambre, it’s by far one of the better experiences on the island. Especially for those wanting a fabulous beach (with no coral and rocks) and great activities. It’s been a winner in all aspects. Regarding the staff at Ambre, it’s hands down the best treatment we’ve had in all our travels. Kudos to everyone. Great food too, one cannot complain about a lack of variety at all. This is one of the best places to go for a relaxed vacation. What is evident is that there are many returners each year from Europe. They’ve found their home away from home at Ambre. In all honesty, if you see a complaint about Ambre. It’s probably a self inflicted problem and not an Ambre problem. We will hopefully be back for another visit in 2026.

The hotel position is beautiful on a long stretch of beach. The sea views are spectacular. The staff at Ambre were wonderful, anything we needed was immediately rectified. The two a la carte restaurants, La Plage and Dolce Vita were easily accessable once we had navagated the online booking system. They were both excellent, food wise and service wise and we managed to eat in them most of the time. The gym was excellent, very well equipped. Ram, the fitness guy was extremely helpful and knowledgable and gave me advice.

We were disappointed at the overall condition of the rooms and hotel in general. The whole hotel is in need of renovation. The pools had tiles missing and where the concrete around the pool had broken off, rust was showing through. The maintenace staff and repair people are not keeping the property in good condition. Very shoddy makeshift solutions to balcony doors that do not lock properly. The boathouse people were disorganised in making bookings. I saw people turned away because they did not have a booking and there was clearly room on the boat for them. The guy in charge was unhelpful whereas the younger staff were very nice. The buffet restaurant Indigo was disappointing. The layout of the food displays was outdated and not appetizing. The food was not replenished at breakfast which is the only meal we took in there.
