Peppers Bluewater Resort

This is an easy-to-locate hotel. It is a large complex with varied types of accommodation. I stayed in a small double-bedded room with fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board plus decent little bathroom. It had a very comfortable bed and bedding with extra covers that I always need and a good supply of towels. It was also serviced each day. There was also a little verandah with chairs and a table. The main reception area also had a self-service restaurant area plus relaxed seating and a bar. It was clean and comfortable. The lake edge and access to the hikes plus supermarket, eating places and central observatory were very convenient. The walk up to the St John's observatory is well sign-posted. If you do the full circular hike, allow a full day and take plenty of water and snacks. The scenery is wonderful. This includes the superb night skies (if clear - which it was for me on the second night). There are fuel stations at the other end of the town with no problems taking international credit cards.

We had a 2 bedroom lake view apartment. It was spacious and.very comfortable. Well situated across the road from the lake . We ate in the restaurant twice and both meals were delicious . Really enjoyed the electric under blankets . All staff were friendly and obliging- not like previous comments we had read about .

Poor unlit signage made it difficult to find our accommodation - especially as we arrived in the dark. Check size of accommodation as some units extremely small - too small to open up suitcases even!

Poor value Ridiculously small room on back side of hotel, away from amenities and very expensive , absolutely NOT value for money, very disappointing experience.
