SpringHill Suites Anchorage University Lake

The beds were fabulous, bathroom facilities and linens were very nice. The staff was very professional and helpful, including the shuttle driver. The property amenities were a tad skimpy. We didn't like the coffee, paper plates, and lack of on-site food, except for breakfast (very nice buffet). Couldn't get the heat regulated so we were overly warm.

Liked that the maintenance of the property was excellent. Plumbing and electrical were all properly maintained. Plenty of outlets and no unusual extension cords or makeshift devices. Plumbing was attractive, secure and functional. (2 of the last 3 places I used were loose and/or leaking.) No apparent unsafe areas.

The hot tub was down for weekly cleaning that takes more than 3 days apparently because That’s how long wer were there. The coffee bar goes dry at 8pm along with the fire pit outside because there’s only one desk clerk after 8pm. They should provide more than one cup of coffee in the room and post a sign that the coffee bar closes at 8pm. The beds were awesome but I was afraid to sit on the couches they were so stained. I took a sheet out of the closet to cover it before sitting. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and helpful.

Our stay was superb. They were able to prepare a room with zero chemical odor for my wife who has extreme chemical sensitivities. While there, they were attentive to our needs. In particular, Shalley was there full-time answering our questions. When we had to leave earlier than planned, they refunded our payment for the unused nights The room was comfortable, attractive, and well lit. Although there is nothing in the way of restaurants within close walking distance, a short drive gets you to a wide range of eateries. Goose Lake is a bit more than a mile away if you want to do some walking. We’ll be back on our next visit for sure.

Could not get room cleaned or get clean towels

Lots of hallway noise; it’s the holidays. We like laughter. This hotel is reliably spotless.

My family and I visited Anchorage for a week and stayed at the Spring Hill suites university park location. We liked everything for the following reasons, the location is very quiet because is not in the center of town, the view to the snow covered mountains behind the hotel is amazing, rooms are big and clean. The bathroom is split in two separate rooms with separate doors, one for toilet and one for shower. They offer comfortable queen beds and sleeper sofa. Desk area and mini kitchen with microwave and mini fridge. Laundry is in the second floor, required quarter coins which you can get from the bill breaker machine in the laundry room. Indoors pool and jacuzzi, very clean as well. There's also a gym. Breakfast area is very clean and organized, they offered the same menu everyday scrambled eggs, meat patties, fruit, cereal, orange and apple juice, coffee, bagels, yogurt, etc. Breakfast is from 6:30am to 9pm, it gets crowded around 8 am. They have a small store for snacks and drinks by the front desk. Customer service is great, everyone working in the hotel is friendly and cares about your stay. Especially the people cleaning the public areas with the amount of snow people bring in on their boots, they keep up with the cleanliness of the lobby all day long. Well worth every penny spent.

Helpful staff

They over charged my room $141 they let me check in early so the guy charged me what the day rate was without telling me. They will be correcting this. Also I have been calling the front desk for 20 minute no one will answer.
