Plaza Regency Hotels

I stayed in a budget room as part of a partner offer booked through booking.com (i did this to save some money as i was staying in Malta a bit longer than usual and moving to another hotel after afew nights). I didnt realise when booking a budget room that it meant a budget experience, i thought it just meant my room type was assigned on checkin, as stated in the booking. When i entered the hotel first i was told my booking was in the hotel across the street, strange. The second reception was not as nice as the first & it took awhile to figure out where it was as i had to walk through the middle of a restaurant and up steps to enter. I had to move from the first room due to an exposed spring in the filthy mattress. The second room had no exposed spring and the mattress was newer but stained, divan was filthy. There was no welcome pack/ info in room, the only extra was one glass, no water. When checking in i had to ask if there was a pool as no information about facilities other than breakfast info was offered, i was told about one on the roof. The description of hotel online says it has 3 pools. The hotel is split into 2 hotels, perhaps they were in the other hotel and it wasnt clear to me if i was also allowed us the facilities in that hotel? The breakfast was poor. I didnt have the hot food but the pastries were stale and the apple soft. I only had breakfast once. I was a little later going in due to moving rooms the night before, been woken early several times by cleaner & reception trying to clarify the room change and having to go to reception to sort out keycards. At 10am the wait staff promptly invited myself and several other guests to leave as breakfast was 'over'. Finally i accept i paid for a budget room but the toilet was a joke, couldnt sit forward facing on it due to an additional toilet roll holder protruding from wall and the proximity to said wall. Sitting sideways on a toilet gets old pretty quickly. Very surprised by this stay, i have stayed in Malta many times in many hotels i have returned to, i won't be adding this to my list or recommending.

Breakfast - would like more meat options eg turkey beef or chicken sausages.

The stay was good the room was comfortable, though cleanliness could be better. However, it is saddening to hear that staff work very long hours (10:00–22:00) without proper breaks or meals. Despite this, they remain friendly , but it is clear they are very tired. Hopefully, management improves staff conditions, as they are key to the guest experience. Anyway, just sayin’ it was a nice stay,

Great location, access to public transport, beaxh, shopping, restaurants and almost anything.

I’ve stayed here before but never experienced so many issues. First night the bed was so uncomfortable and people coming and going slamming doors until after 2am in the morning. Reception came to address the issue, but to no avail. I asked to be moved to another floor for the second night. Both rooms had frosted windows with barely any natural light as they looked into a stairwell. Shower was cold this morning and the slamming doors were still an issue in the 1st floor. Breakfast was good, nothing fancy and pool area lovely with the view. I chose a basic room but even then it was not worth the money.

Experience was awesome as 3* hotel good location and friendly and amazing staffs. Busy restaurant need to work more how they gonna manage the timing of guest coming, Host keep accepting guest even no more seat (invasion)but unlimited breakfast.😁 We discovered rooftop bar late only 3-days left during our stay rooftop was awesome with view specially during the night. Lights of buildings and fireworks. Awesome and friendly Batman's both from Philippines with Impressive Mocktails (Not in the Menu). *Asked them is the Key* Only down side for me is Housekeeping are shouting in the hallway 😭😭😭 every morning while cleaning.

Well what can I say. Came here with my best friend for her birthday. The room was tiny. Bathroom will require an exorcist to clean it. Lock on bathroom and balcony door broken. Breakfast seems to only supply children's plates and the food well not sure if it qualified as food. But hot chocolate was nice. Staff are friendly but that is the only plus. Avoid.

Second time staying here . Booked a sea view studio . We had room 434 and the views were absolutely stunning . Plenty of room for us (3 adults) . Huge bathroom with shower over bath and also a shower cubicle . It’s so central for St Julian’s and Valletta . Bus stop just outside making it super easy to explore this beautiful island . We had a small kitchen dining area so was nice to prepare a relaxed breakfast in the room and soak in that gorgeous view . The staff were lovely . My son lost a special necklace while there and would like to give a huge thank you to the manager and the barman from the pool bar who made an extra special effort to find it . Thank you so much!
