Plaza Regency Hotels

We stayed in Sliema back in January and were disappointed when we couldn’t stay at the same hotel. That was until we walked into this gem. Every single area of the hotel is spotless, the food and service was spot on. Ideally located with its own Costa. We stayed in a studio room which was perfect for us and families if needed. Rooms serviced daily and fresh towels too. We cannot wait to return.

We have stayed in the hotel 4 times now as we have family living close by. The welcome is always good and the hotel has never disappointed. There are great restaurants opposite and a friendly local pub.

A very pleasant hotel. Rooms and bathroom were all new, very clean and comfortable. Great choice for breakfast for everybody to be able to chose from. Although not a good time for outdoor swimming (just returned after spending New Year holidays), the rooftop pool is top. Above all, the hotel is in a prime position - with bus stops just in front, restaurants across the street.

Great hotel location is excellent and the service was exceptional. my room was very big but the bathroom was tiny and being quite a big bloke was at times a bit awkward apart from that is was very nice. Breakfast was very good loads to choose from , it was a shame the roof terrace wasn`t open but it was worth going up there for the views . All in all a great place to stay.

An outwardly nice hotel in two neighbouring buildings - The Plaza and The Regency, located ideally at the Sliema seafront. There's a bus stop with many connections to Valletta, St. Julian's and to the northern part of the island in front of the hotel, so you can get anywhere you'd like quickly. The single rooms are nice and spacious, some with a great view over the bay. There's an adequate selection of Continental and British breakfast options. All very well, but: The bathroom. The seams weren't just mouldy, which is something that often cannot be helped, they were dirty. Nasty. The mattress also had some indefinable stains at the side. As there was a mattress cover and extra bedding I didn't mind too much, but those issues are something the hotel management might want to change. Staff was often reserved but friendly. By and large I'd still recommend staying there and would choose to stay at the hotel again (hoping I'll get a bathroom a bit cleaner).

This hotel did what we wanted it to do as a base for our visit to Malta. It was convenient for local buses as they stopped outside, local buses were €2 single to wherever, but you can buy a pass for the week which I'd recommend if you're going to use them regularly. The hotel was in two buildings which was divided by a side road. There were two swimming pools, one on the roof of our hotel, it was lovely with great views, but we didn't use as the weather wasn't warm enough, the indoor pool was in the other hotel building as well as the small bar that overlooked it, we didn't use the indoor pool either, it looked nice, but, looked quite small. Ps the bar had a happy hour with cocktails 2 for 1, these were the best cocktails we had whilst in Malta! The prom was lovely, St Julian and Sliema are within walking distance and there are lovely restaurants all along. As for the hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast plentiful and varied. We booked a room with a balcony with sea views, the balcony was small, but the sea views were amazing and lovely to wake up to, the noise from the road was fine once you closed the balcony doors. Our room was cleaned daily. The hotel like everywhere in Malta was very clean. I knew that English was spoken in Malta, but hadn't realised that it was one of the official languages of the island. All the cities we visited were amazing. The weather in late November was changeable, most days were sunny and warm, also a cold wind, rain showers, but these showers were over after a couple of minutes and the sun came back out! Needed a jumper and waterproof in a bag, but mostly wore t-shirt and shorts or trousers in the daytime. Would recommend this hotel, but also would recommend to pay the extra for the balcony room, the holiday we booked via Jet2 was very well orchestrated and very reasonably priced, I have seen one or two negative reviews on this hotel, but for the price you pay I think it's a very fair price and doesn't deserve the comments, if you want more luxury you need to pay the extra money.

Great breakfasts at this hotel. Very clean location was good for my circumstances. The only thing I had an issue with was that I was too hot at night and due to it being winter months no air conditioning was available.

Good service for good price

Staff was kind & helpful, room was perfect and matched the photos and my expectations, very good breakfast options compared to many other hotels. Good waterfront location. Only thing was the “hottub” wasn’t very warm
