Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel

It was very good value for my suite. The room was very comfortable, with an extra king size bed and a sofa bed, though it lacked black out blinds which would have made my sleep better. The breakfast was hearty and filling. The queue for breakfast is quite long. The lack of sufficient tables and seats meant that I and many guests had to eat in our rooms, but looking at the available space, there's nothing the hotel can do about this. The location is very conveniently close to a subway station. Access to downtown Manhattan, Central Park, LaGuardia and JFK airports is very good. The area is not the best in New York City, somewhat run down, but I felt completely safe. I will definitely recommend staying here, and if I were to return to NYC will consider staying here again.

Terrible hotel, area was bad and dirty. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The pictures of the property are very misleading. There are no couches in the room and it is very small. Would not go back. Also you have to call the desk for a garbage change and more towels and shampoo. Parking is a mess and you have to pay an additional $25 a night and its behind the building where local homeless people walk through and will beg you for money on there premise. Also they have cameras but they claim they can not access them as I was told.

I like the location a lot. It was easy to connect with the rest of Queens, the Upper East side, and LaGuardia, which is why I chose to stay there. The room was very clean, and breakfast was good. The gym is okay, good enough for a quick workout.

Dust,dirty floor,dirty toilet bowl

I’m a rewards member and have never stayed at another Best Western that didn’t have a microwave or the typical dorm size refrigerator in the room. There was only one waste basket in the room which was compounded by the fact that they didn’t provide housekeeping services.

I'm from NYC but I am not familiar with the details of astoria. this part used to be full of factories and housing units ( it still is). along the river, multiple expensive condos are being built and the neighborhood is slowly changing. near the hotel F train is closeby, but you still have to walk past the tenament buildings. overall i like the hotel. wondering about the sleep inn behind (is it the same but cheaper). have fun in nyc
