"Price tag did not equal the suite we stayed in. "

We were not happy with the price of the room once we got in our room. As you can see from the photos the room was filthy and in poor condition. Televisions weren’t working which was frustrating. We had to clean the kitchen table before we used it. The carpet was stained. The blinds were literally shredded. A bathroom drawer was missing. Not to mention a dog barking in the room near ours. Our room was $327.31 including tax. We complained and some sort of refund should have been offered but was not.

"Health Inspection Alert/DO NOT STAY HERE"

My family and I came to town for a wedding. I had booked six nights/3 rooms for everybody and based on the reviews online I thought we were getting a great hotel.....boy was I wrong! I have to think that there have been false positive reviews posted because there’s no way those reviews add up to this dump of a hotel. We had blood all over our carpet, we had pubic hair in our shower, we had blood on our comforter can you imagine when I found it?! they then brought a second comforter that had poop on it that had not even been washed. I’m thinking this may have been done on purpose. Then they never even brought a replacement comforter. There were white stains all over the kitchen chairs you can guess what that was. The Chest of drawers was broken and my son almost busted his eye on it because they would not close and we didn’t realize it at first. We booked it because it has a kitchen and we have two young children but they had nothing stocked in there one spoon no forks. How Is this even allowed? But the most disappointing part is when I asked to speak to the manager he lied and said he did try to contact me but he never did. I had to go through corporate Marriott multiple times reporting it. I requested a refund for my rooms and originally he said only one of my six nights would get refunded what a joke! So I filed again and again and finally got somewhere with Corporate. No wonder this hotel is in shambles with a shady manager like that. Never have I or my family ever been so disgusted in a hotel. Marriot has been my home for the last 10 years I’m platinum elite and love almost every hotel I stay at. Oh and I’m posting pictures so you can see and also reported to the health department

"Consider this Before Staying Here"

Each year, I make a road trip from Wisconsin to New England to visit family for the holidays. Youngstown is roughly the half-way point. I am a retired, conservative gentleman who is financially comfortable. When I registered at this hotel I was required to sign a form agreeing not to use the room for “parties”. I have a 6 pound Chihuahua who stands not a foot tall and I was required to pay $89 dollars extra for the dog. Try to fathom this: the charge for me was $110.00/night and nearly the same for a tiny dog who could do no more damage than a Guinea Pig. I asked for an exception and was denied flatly and with an eye-roll. I spotted a basket offering lunchbox-sized snacks to the left of the reception area and took a small, child-sized canister of Pringles. As I took out my wallet to pay for them, the eye-rolling clerk raised both hands in the air as though I were brandishing a weapon. He explained with indignation that the staff did not handle cash due to Covid-19 and that the mini- Pringles canister would be charged to my filed credit card. A month later my credit card bill arrived and I had been billed over $5.00 for the 2.3 ounce can of Pringles. That is about equivalent in weight to two standard envelopes with nothing in them I phoned Marriott to see if there had been a mistake. They said there was none. I again asked if there was any possibility for a reduction in the pet fee since it was nearly the same as the human rate- “if we make an exception for you, we will have to make one for everybody” was the response. I hadn’t heard that since the 5th grade when I asked to go to the boy’s room without wearing my uniform blazer. As to the suite, the bed was comfortable, the bedding fluffy and clean in both appearance and smell. The bathroom was clean and everything functioned. The kitchenette floor was dirty with crumbs of food around the baseboards along with drinking straw papers from the last guests or party hosts as the case may be. The furniture was comfortable but stained from spilled liquids or perhaps something worse. I thought about requesting house keeping but I envisioned the eye-rolling clerk getting angry and taking some kind of vengeance so for the sake of my very tired Chihuahua, I let it go and left at daybreak. In summary, I suspect this hotel is a favorite haunt of local riffraff or perhaps it is contracted by the government to house illegal aliens and as such, the staff are no longer accustomed to retail clients and any remnant of customer service culture has given way to something one might expect at the YMCA or a youth hostel.

"Extremely Disappointed"

I’m originally from the area and every time my mother and I would come home (every other year) we would stay here. I always appreciated the homey clean atmosphere and lovely renovations done during our last (2017) visit. I was back in the area to bury my mom and of course booked this hotel. To say I was very disappointed is an understatement. The room had stains on the upholstery, stains on the carpet, a broken door leading to the bedroom, missing mirrored doors to the closet. I went to the front desk three times to ask for maintenance to repair the bedroom door and to clean the very STICKY stain on the carpet (I stepped on it with bare feet). No one ever came. My best friend came for the funeral and was across the hall and had to put towels on the sofa to cover the stains. I have to say the front desk staff was very nice and professional, just unable to get maintenance to address the problems. My visit next year will find me in a different hotel. I’ve written favorable reviews for this property in the past and it pains me to write this one.

"Pleasant business trip here"

My coworkers & I stayed here for close to 3 weeks. The employees were very welcoming & accommodating, especially Dee at the front desk! The room was spacious & my favorite type of layout at any hotel. Next time we go back to Youngstown for work, we will be staying here again.

We waited 20 minutes in the lobby waiting for the staff to arrive. Then when they arrived we spent another 20 minutes waiting while she slowly trained a new team member. Ridiculous.

"NOT Marriot quality by a LONG shot."

We stayed here 4 nights the second week of July 2021 to visit family. The staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel was just very poor quality. We were shocked at the lack of cleanliness and poor condition of everything.

Old hotel. Carpet was ripped and worn inside of room. Bathroom was dirty when we arrived. Found dirty towels under the bathroom sink. Power went out in half the hotel.
