Phowadol Resort

I always stay this hotel when I visited Chiang Rai. The atmoshpere is good and price is reasonable for its facilities.

The quality of the limited buffet spread was very poor. It obviously caters for Chinese tourists who were there in their rowdy numbers. A few years ago it was a special place to go with family.or friends, not now! I don't recommend it, there are better buffets in Chiang Rai.

Badly in need of renovations. Dirty shower curtains, hard and old mattress—very uncomfortable. Staff are nice and try to manage as much as they can

El lugar es increíble, esta hermoso; sin embargo, está tan grande que le falta muchísimo mantenimiento. Adicional a las cabañas tienen un hotel que está abandonado y no da una buena impresión. El cuarto pequeño, pero bonito. El servicio del lobby bueno. El restaurante bastante malo, tanto la comida y peor el serivicio, es sumamente incómodo que en un hotel no hablen inglés y en el restautante cero inglés, no pudimos comunicarnos. El lugar literal sirve únicamente para dormir.

El alojamiento fue estupendo, nos gusto mucho el ambiente del hotel muy tranquilo y natural. Ideal para pasar un día relajado. La piscina es increíble, el agua estaba un poco fría.

This place could be so beautiful. It appeared rundown & nothing like the pictures. The bed in from 506 was so hard we woke up with back aches. The property was unkept & overgrown. The water around the villas was murky. No bar service at the pool. Would some effort from the owners this place would be Magical. The staff was professionally & friendly & extremely accommodating. The food was good.

A eviter à tout prix

Phowadol resort is a nice place, just outside Chiang Rai, convenient for getting to main sites if you have your own car. If you do not have your own transport I would not recommend this place. Maybe because it is off season it felt a bit run down. The ponds which the villas surround were murky and green which spoils a beautiful layout design. Our villa was spacious and comfortable with a nice seating area as well as the bed area. However, the phone did not work which meant no room service ordering nor arranging the ground transport for luggage collection etc and this was not fixed despite reporting it. Also the wi-fi was poor and despite two staff members trying to fix it I was unable to get wi-fi on my iPad throughout the stay, it only worked in the restaurant. Very disappointing and inconvenient. However, given the special price option it was worth the money paid. However, I would probably look at other alternatives in Chiang Rai next time.

A nice hotel in a quiet rural area. The rooms were clean and we were a large group of friends with several rooms. Some were older than others and other reviews said that the lodges were a lot nicer but our rooms were good value. The hotel is quite far out of town and the pool was closed for maintenance. Clearly the pandemic has meant that certain things can’t be updated as the gym was very old and musty and the breakfast and breakfast room need updating. I would stay here again but it would be nice if the site was better maintained although I understand in the present circumstances this is difficult. We paid to go to a big hotel on the last day so we could use a pool so it might have been nice if the staff had offered something complimentary to compensate for the fact the facilities couldn’t be used- when guests are scarce it pays to look after them.

Nice spacious cottage, easy to find, big grounds. Helpful staff, decent breakfast. Restaurants nearby and easy drive to town.
