Tamarack Lodge

Staying at the Tamarack Lodge was the best decision we made on this vacation. We stayed in a comfortable cabin with a little kitchen. The rooms were cozy and very well-maintained. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant one night and enjoyed the wonderful ambiance in the front room with the bar and stone fireplace. All the people who work at Tamarack were positive and friendly. The location was close to everything we needed from Mammoth. The resort is really doing something right; we felt we had a real break from the business of life and were restored after being in the mountains in such a genuine setting as the Tamarack Lodge.

What an incredible experience at the Tamarack. It has become one of our favorite stays when in Mammoth and the experience is always 10/10. The location, the staff, the lodge! All are incredible. Big shout out to Brian the GM for going the extra mile to make sure our stay was the best it could be.

Early check in. Cute room. Decent breakfast. Quiet area with views of the lake.

Dated room. Spongy floor. Small and low toilet. We were assigned cabin 23 which involved a long walk to get to. Since it was snowing we asked and got cabin 8. Why couldn’t we drive to cabin 23?

We have been coming to the Sierras since the 1970s--hiking, backpaking, skiing. Skied at Mammoth and cross country skied at Tamarack. We have friends who live here, so never really needed accommodations. This year, though, I wanted to celebrate my birthday and what a pleasant surprise! The cabins are rustic and yet immaculately clean. The kitchen is perfect for eating in and making simple meals, coffe and tea. Bathroom updated and clean. Kendra at the front desk was efficient and so friendly. Even in March a brisk sunset walk over the bridge and lake view was marvelous! We will be back.

This is our favorite place to go every year during the week of my birthday. We started coming here many years ago for a week of X-country skiing, and we love visiting the lounge and Lakefront Restaurant. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, we even remember their names each year when we return. We look forward to our trip to Tamarack Lodge next year!

This was our 2nd time visiting the Tamarack ski resort and first time staying at the Lodge. The cabin had awesome views of Crystal Crag. I loved being able to ski from the cabin out to the trails. The resort staff thought of just about everything. The cabin and nearby Lodge had everyting we needed and was very quiet and private. I really appreciated the humidifiers, the Yaktrax loaners for our shoes, and the board games available to use in our cabin. The wood stove was easy to use and firewood/fire starters well stocked. The star gazing was so amazing right off the deck. I will miss looking at the stars. We had a great time at this ski resort and highly recommend for anyone who enjoys cross country skiing or just being in a beautiful mountain environment.

Nothing at all to fault the Tamarack Resort but this season- Winter 2026 was really warm for March, so maybe next year will take a chance and come up in February as the snow is melting fast. However, I think this resort and campground will be really fun in the summer time and I am thinking about a summer visit. There is so much to do around this area.

Our family has been going to the Tamarack Lodge and Resort for approx. 30 years. I downhill ski and my wife cross country skis. We were just there this week and can’t say enough about the amazing staff and great accomodations( cabins that surround Twin Lakes)! The historic lodge is so charming along with the best restaurant in town( The Lakeside Restaurant.. 5 star)! A true mountain experience!!!!
