Tamarack Lodge

We wanted a rustic and uncrowded location surrounded by nature. The location fit the bill. The moon shining on the granite cliffs and lake was so beautiful. Our cabin was cozy and warm. We kept a fire going in the wood stove when we were there. It was so fun to wrap up in a blanket and read when we weren't out exploring. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious and the lodge was just as cozy and warm as our cabin. The atmosphere of old pine walls and ceilings with a huge fireplace really made the place memorable. The dinner was delicious! The staff was so helpful and friendly. The help they gave us getting our luggage into the cabin and the bikes into storage was amazing!

Our experience at Tamarack was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we got there, until the moment we life, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Our steps to the cabin were icy and slippery and they immediately got it cleared out, so it was safe for my partner and I to come and go for our time in Mammoth. The complimentary breakfast in the common area is cozy, delicious, and filling. The perfect way to start your day on the slopes. The cabin itself is cozy and the view when stepping out the front door in the morning is picturesque. The only thing that could have made our stay better and even more memorable would be if we extended our trip. We can’t wait to be back next year. Tamarack has been operating for 100 years and with the service and we received, you can see why.

Spent 4 absolutely lovely days in a cabin with 2 pups. The breakfast is super - full of important things like hard boiled eggs, bananas, oat milk, yogurt, and whipped cream. Also, taking extra food for lunch and snacks is not looked down upon, it's encouraged. In the mornings we'd walk the dogs up to Lake Mary - which was completely frozen over and so fun to run around on - then the dogs would take a nap while we went xc skiing for the rest of the day. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked - tea kettle, cutting board, scissors, and lots of hand towels were surprise bonuses. The fireplace was great - the electric heaters were a little loud but that's ok. Our oven wasn't working so we called the front desk and they sent Jeff the maintenance man over right away. At first he thought he wouldn’t be able to fix it due to a missing part but then was able to figure out a way, and we had our crispy pizza in no time, fantastic problem solving! The only thing that was a bummer was that so so so many guests were not picking up their dog poop. This place is so awesome to allow dogs, they have poop bags for FREE and trash cans around the cabins so I'm confused why people have to abuse it. Some people even put a chunk of snow on top of it, like it's camouflaged. LOL

Great experience overall. Excellent hospitality, especially Juan, he stop his little tractor earlier in the day to say he would help us move our luggage out of Cabin 18 to our car when ready. Juan showed up and did exactly that. He's a great asset to Tamarack Lodge.

The location of Tamarack Lodge cannot be rivaled. The beautiful Twin Lakes, waterfall view, bike and hiking trails makes the Lodge immediate surroundings the best playground EVER!!! Our deluxe cabin had comfy beds, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well appointed kitchen, lovely dining room, fireplace, living room and back deck with picnic table. Morning continental breakfasts were perfect way to start the day. Loved the healthy yoghurt, granola choices. Excited to see that guests now have access to a fitness room and jacuzzi and nearby hotel. Most importantly, I want to thank Mara who was a great support when my husband had a medical emergency. She made sure the paramedics found our Cabin location ASAP and extended our stay an additional night without any hiccups. Jeffrey offered to help load our kayaks on our SUV because my husband was unable. My husband, friends and I had great fun before his medical emergency. Tamarack Lodge is my happy place. Location was nice. Parking wasn't good. No pool etc on site.

Cabin was small on space and needed updating. Difficult parking.
