Hotel Suisse

The view from our lake view room was spectacular, also our little balcony, very pretty. But we did pay extra for lake view. This hotel is SO convenient as its on the lake front right opposite the ferry terminal and many nice restaurants are located very close. This visit was a 90’s recreate from when I stayed here 1998 with my best friend whilst interrailing. Returned to celebrate our 50th birthdays. The restaurant downstairs really did look fabulous, you would need to book in advance to dine in. Staff are very good, very friendly, very efficient check in.

It was expensive. Booked 8 months in advance and paid £600 for a double room for 2 nights. As a student in the 90s we definitely did not pay that!! The kitchen prep was very noisy from 7am. There was construction work going on above us and in the building next door so was very noisy also from 7am. No bar. Room only with no possibility of breakfast at all, even as an extra. We went out for breakfast but as a resident it would have been very nice to have been served a simple breakfast on the beautiful terrace. Tables were only for lunch and dinner. Shower took a long while for hot water. Room was very very basic although comfortable bed. But needed extra pillows.

The access to rooms go through the restaurant kitchen back of house , terrible smell .. the room had a drain smell all night

Location is great ala u can't avoid being near busy steps full of people & Mr Panino's blaring radio.

No front desk, reception, concierge or bellman. U go to the restaurant with all ur luggage while people r trying to fine dine to ck in & basically schlep ur bags urself. No coffee provided in the room & no room service. The room was updated with a very nice bathroom to include, of all things, a sauna. Peak season is miserably hot so not too interested in that. Food in the restaurant is marginal but servers were all good along with housekeeping.

Sauna in the room was great. Room was spacious. The location is great and the restaurant was the best food we had in bellagio.

It was way too loud. This place is clearly a restaurant first and a hotel far second. You could hear loud cleanup until at least midnight every day and then again starting around 4/5 am. There was also construction going on, which was not clearly stated when booking, so they started hammering at 7/8 am most days.

Nice location by lake Como. Food is OK-ish. Service is non-existent; some of the staff are friendly (the younger ones), other are borderline rude. It really feels like they don't care, as nobody will ever come back! Do yourself a favour, do NOT go there

The bed and pillows were outstanding. Best sleep I had on this trip. I must get those pillows for home.

No room for toiletries in the bathroom. Mold in the shower around the base.

Great location and restaurant very good.

We were not told that the hotel was under renovation. They had not turned on the heating and forgot to add covers to the beds. Not a great experience, but maybe, once the work is finished, it will be better

The hotel is currently under construction and I got the opportunity to stay in one of the updated rooms. A lot of space and got an upgrade to the room with a sauna in the bathroom. The room was comfortable, great bed and bathroom. Very bare otherwise. This is an interesting hotel as it is above a restaurant and you need to check in through the restaurant. The staff just handed me my key and sent me on my way. No information on how to access after-hours. There isn't a reception so you need to come in through a side door when the restaurant closes. The staff couldn't be any less interested if they tried. The restaurant itself was amazing. The food was pretty spectacular but be prepared to pay a premium. If you expect service and amenities then this isn't the place for you. The property was under construction so some areas were pretty messy. This is more of a restaurant with accomodation than a hotel. Don't be fooled by the name.

Service - on check in guests should be given a run down of how to access the building and shown around. Restaurant staff constantly seem bothered by your presence when you have to come in and out of the "hotel" Careless room service - upon returning to my room after a day around the lake I found that room service had left their keys in my door- allowing anyone who walked by to have access to my personal belongings. No room safe - there was no safe box in the room. This further highlights the negligence of their room service leaving keys in the door. Find a safe space for your passport and expensive items.
