Décor was all a bit tatty in the bedroom, cooked food at breakfast was not very warm. Not what is expected at a 5* rated hotel.

Our first impression of the Best Semiramis hotel in was to arrive in our rented vehicle in the evening and to find no parking. The hotel offers six small parking spaces for a huge property of 17-floors! So where was the parking that was advertised when I booked? Granted, it was stated that parking was limited, but I think six slots for a hotel that accommodates 1,000-plus guests should realistically be marked as “no on-site parking”. Street parking was free, but limited, so every night we found ourselves having to loop the block several times until an on-street parking space became available. We were checked in promptly and were given a complimentary glass of (tinned) pineapple juice. The receptionist, Sara, was helpful and informative. Our room, 601, was large but rather basic. It was kept clean, but we had to ask for tissues and thereafter we were given just two tissues per person per day, which was wholly insufficient. Also, there was a bin in the toilet, but none in the living area, so we had to ask for an extra bin too. The hotel was marketed as a 5-star property and priced accordingly, in comparison with other hotels in Puerto de la Cruz, but it did not have even basic amenities. The air-conditioner in the room did not work, so we alerted reception within an hour of our arrival, and again the following morning, but nobody ever visited the room and so nothing was done. The rooms were spacious with a gorgeous seaview to wake up to. Housekeeping cleaned the rooms daily providing clean towels. The property is walking distance from shops and restaurants overlooking the sea.

Room lovely with a view of the town and the sea. Kept immaculately clean every day. Location good, not noisy or busy but close enough to walk to town, some gorgeous gardens, along the coastal path and to local shops & bars. Food was generally very good. some dishes were not to our taste but there was always plenty of choice. Salad buffet was especially good. The only slight negative was the quality of the entertainment wasn't always the best but that seems to be standard in hotels. Some of the hotel looks a little dated but all still very comfortable.Service was top notch.

Property location is good, on a cliff, all rooms have sea view. It’s 15-30 mins walking distance to beaches both sides, but the hotel has 2 pools - a smaller heated one and a bigger not heated one. We were there in November and the big one was too cold for us, weigh the ambient temp bring 22 deg on average. Buffet breakfast and dinner had a wide variety of dishes, but most of them were the same each day. Porridge wasn’t very good, wines at the bar are awful, my husband and I were sick on some days. Room was cleaned every day, but the hotel is a bit tired overall, there are far better 4*. There was one wonderful animator, Judith, who did yoga, stretching, Pilates and aqua gym classes for us, games in the afternoon. The hotel had shows on most nights.

Amazing

Really great hotel on a cliff right next to the sea, lovely big rooms, great view from the balcony and with parking right outside. Staff are very polite and accommodating. Very good choice for the buffer breakfast but the food itself wasn’t that tasty. The rooms were cleaned daily but I would give the cleaning 7 out of 10. The WiFi was really really weak (almost non existent) during our first 5 days but, the last 2 days it was very good. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants very close by, about 2 minutes walk. For a 5 star hotel there was no room service. I would stay here if I ever visited again but I would class this more as a 4 star hotel because of no room service. Overall I would recommend this hotel as it was good value for what we paid.

Been here a few times before, always friendly staff and lovely rooms

The receptionist attempted to be friendly, but we can see he is not friendly at all. When we ask him questions, he did not look at us, making us feel he is not polite at all. The hotel is very old, and the swimming pool is very dirty, I could not recommend people to live at this hotel.
