La Casa Delle Fate

The apartment was lovely with many unexpected extra touches - we have never been greeted with wine and home made cake at a rental apartment before. Ground coffee, salt and pepper, sugar, olive oil, soap, washing up liquid and even laundry capsules were provided, and there was a bottle of cold mineral water in the fridge. The block has a laundry room and the apartment had its own iron, ironing board and clothes airer. There was even a little library of books and we were encouraged to take one home if we needed to finish reading it. The bed was comfortable, the linen was fresh, and the apartment was spotless. The location is perfect: 50m from the beach in a vibrant (but not too noisy) neighbourhood with lots of friendly small bars and restaurants. There is a bus which leaves every 15 minutes from the end of the road and takes you completely round Ortigia island and into Siracusa: in effect a sightseeing tour for a couple of Euros, plus if you want to go to a bigger supermarket you don't have to carry your shopping home. The best thing about the apartment was our host, Luca, who was always available to help and to answer questions. He gave us lots of information and advice about local attractions (including his young daughter's recommendations for the best ice cream!) and texted every couple of days to see if we needed anything. He even helped us out when we got into a tangle trying to book train tickets on the Trenitalia website, and made sure we had a taxi to the station when we left.

Everything about the apartment was perfect and Luca's communication before we arrived was friendly, helpful and informative. We have no criticism at all of our host or our accommodation. But a warning to anyone wanting to stay at Casa Delle Fate - and you really should! - is that there are several different apartments and Booking.com does not make this clear. It puts photographs from all the apartments together in the listings as if you are looking at pictures of just one property and it's not clear exactly what you are getting - for example, some apartments have a terrace and some have a balcony, some are studios and some have a separate bedroom. This is a fault of Booking.com's listing and not the host. Just be careful when you are booking that you know which apartment you have actually reserved.

Die Unterkunft ist zentral gelegen - besser geht es nicht. Sie liegt im Herzen der Altstadt und dennoch ruhig, um Ruhe zu finden. Luca ist ein hervorragender und liebenswerter Gastgeber, der sich persönlich um alles, was das Herz begehrt, kümmert. Es fehlt an nichts. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt. Wunderschön, individuell, geschmackvoll.

Luca was a perfect host, communication from our first booking through to our departure could not have been better. Everything seemed to have been thought about to ensure we had the best possible stay, from the wine chosen by his father and tart baked by his mum (thank you) to the comprehensive information of the area. There was such a welcoming air to everything, it felt like so much more than a holiday apartment. The location was perfect, small beaches within a few metres of the front door, and the old alleyways and streets leading to the town were so atmospheric. We were very pleased to have found this lovely home to enjoy our stay in such a beautiful city. Thank you to Luca and his family for allowing us to share it.

Nothing, our every need had been anticipated.

Posizione eccezionale, nel cuore di Ortigia e a due passi da Cala Rossa, minuscola spiaggia talmente vicina all’alloggio da sembrare quasi una spiaggia privata a disposizione degli ospiti. Non c’è stato assolutamente nulla che cambierei, il nostro alloggio era dotato di ogni comfort, Luca è stato presente per qualsiasi nostra necessità e richiesta…. Davvero una delle nostre migliori vacanze grazie alla Casa delle Fate. Non siamo soliti recensire i luoghi che frequentiamo, ma in questo caso ci sentiamo proprio di consigliare questa splendida realtà nel cuore di una regione che amiamo infinitamente… sono certo che non potremo fare a meno di tornare.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung im Zentrum der Altstadt von Syrakus. Sehr viele Restaurants in der Nähe und auch zu einem kleinen Strand ist es nicht weit. Die Fenster der Wohnung dichten sehr gut ab, so dass man vom Lärm auf der daruntwr liegenden Gasse nichts mitbekommt. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert sehr gut. Unser Gastgeber Luca war sehr bemüht und hat uns sowohl die Wohnung als auch Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung erklärt. Wenn man mit dem Mietwagen anreist, empfiehlt es sich die Garage in 400 m Entfernung zu reservieren, ansonsten bekommt man oft keinen Platz und muss dann eine größere Entfernung zum nächsten Parkhaus zu Fuß zurücklegen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Perfektes Service und sehr gute Lage.

La générosité de Lucas qui nous a donné beaucoup d’informations précieuses pour profiter pleinement de notre séjour. Des cadeaux de Bienvenu, facilitant notre premier casse-croûte. L’emplacement idéal sur la pointe de Lille, permettant d’aller me baigner à quelques dizaines de mètres et d’aller voir le coucher de soleil de l’autre côté.

Nous avons eu un très bon accueil de notre hôte (Lucas) à notre arrivée : boisson fraîche, une tarte aux fruits ainsi qu'une bonne bouteille de vin. Celui-ci nous a détaillé les diverses activités et lieux à visiter avec les prospectus à disposition. Il nous a accompagné sur les besoins notamment pour les réservations de taxis... Disponible en cas de besoin. L'appartement est propre et douillé, une très bonne literie, celui-ci est disposé au centre d'Ortigia, très animés et agréable à visiter et possibilité de se baigner via les petites plages situées tout autour d'Ortigia. Pour notre part, il est mis une note de 9/10 pour la "Casa Delle Fate".

This is a wonderful location. Luca, the owner met us from the taxi and took us to the apartment personally. He explained all the local sights and attractions and where the local people go rather than following the tourist trail. The apartments (we stayed in two) were wonderful and touches like a bottle of wine waiting for us made it more special. The communications from the moment the apartment was booked to the taxi Luca booked for us to take us to the station were first rate.... and first rate is what this trip was.

un hôte très attentionné, vous ne trouverez pas plus serviable. L'ascenseur est très pratique. La climatisation fonctionne très bien. Le lit est très confortable.
