Wensum Guest House

Family room, no.4. Very clean, quiet even though house full judging by full car park. Confortable beds. Very warm room with road noise if window open but fan provided. En suite small but well layed out.

Did the job great spacious room, very clean. Check in time is a little late 4pm better if you could check in earlier around 2pm plenty of on site parking which was a good bonus.

The hotel was easy to find with own car park and a 20 minute walk to Norwich city centre. Check in was not until 4 pm and the door was locked prior to that, but there was an emergency telephone number displayed. The guy that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. The room had a double and single bed. WiFi was good and the TV worked well. There was also tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits. The en suite was small. but functional, and the room was clean and tidy. The bed was a little hard though. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that part. All the staff we dealt with were very friendly.

Room was nice. bed seemed quite small (or maybe we are spoilt having a king sized at home). Bit annoyed that bathroom was cold, due to the radiator being full of air - however, I bleed the radiator and bathroom was then hot - but feel they should check these things. Also, bathroom could do with a splash of paint on the ceiling where some paint is peeling off. The shower hose was kinked - so water kept stopping and I had to squeeze hose to get water through - after that ok. don't want to sound like a moaner - but to me, these are basic things you check on a daily/weekly basis.

No heating that worked properly so had to use an oil filled portable one.Breakfast on Sunday returned and still not nice -slimy scrambled egg and sausage with thick plastic skin! Mattress lumpy and thank fully was changed Staff friendly but recommended a pub for dinner that didn't do food at all.

Very comfortable stay, room clean and warm. Breakfast is very good value for £5

This was the first time I had ever stayed in a guest house rather than a hotel and I have to say it was a very pleasant surprise. The Team at the Wensum were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I stayed in a single en-suite room which gave me everything I needed for my business trip. As I was exhibiting at the Norfolk Showground (or would have done if the weather had not intervened), the location was ideal.

This hotel is located close to central Norwich but far enough away to be quiet, east to access, and less expensive than places located only slightly closer to the center. The place is spotless and very comfortable. There is free parking. The Wifi has good signal strength. Wensum is an absolutely excellent value in all respects. I had a much more pleasant stay than I had in hotels in the area that were much more expensive.

The room we had was a family size to fit 3 of us in for 1 night, the room itself is a good size with basic amenities such as tea and coffee however some decorating that still needed to be done! Hoping for a good sleep before a 2 hour drive home we were very disappointed!! The room upstairs decided it would be great to let their kids run around screaming shouting and jumping to the point we thought they would come through the ceiling, when we told the manager he didn’t seem bothered about doing anything and his only answer was that they were leaving soon. Had we gone to the closed reception earlier and called the “emergency” number he may have been able to stop it. Well in my opinion an emergency isn’t for kids. Would not recommend staying here at all due to being so unhelpful.
