Penny Farthing Hotel & Cottages

Location was great. Included breakfast was great Room would be quaint in cooler times

Unfortunately we arrived during a heat wave. The room was extremely hot and not designed for the conditions. The fan provided was inadequate. A restless sweat soaked night was experienced.

Clean and comfortable. Great location locally and for Southampton cruise port.

room was a lot smaller than we thought it would be very cramped no room either side of the bed shower was rubbish

The day I checked in was exceptionally hot and when I got to the room the curtains were closed against the sun and the fan was running I thought this was very good customer care.

There wasn't anywhere to put toiletries in the bath room.

The rooms were excessively hot the fans were not strong enough. The breakfast orders were taken too quickly. Literally sat down to eat cereal and they wanted to take cooked breakfast orders which hen arrived before cereal was even finished. Felt too rushed. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang towel, put toiletries, no shelving or hooks.

Lovely location and the staff once again very helpfull.

No fault of hotel but the room was very hot and at times unbearable. The portable fans were innafective due to the high temperatures. The room we had this time was a little small could have done with a change. Hotel looking a little tired in some areas.

The staff were pleasant and the full English breakfast was satisfactory

We had a room on the 2nd floor. The weather had been very hot for several days. As we approached the second floor the heat hit us as though we were walking into a sauna. On entering the room 2 fans were already in motion circulating warm air. The heat was just unbearable. The hotel would have been aware how hot that room gets in a heatwave and that even with fans it cannot be cooled down. Bearing in mind we only booked the hotel a few days in advance we should have been made aware that there would have been a problem with the heat. It was over 40 degrees in that room hence a very unpleasant stay.
