Good spot ,lovely view. , clean rooms.

Needs a referb in some of the rooms .

Location view over the river good once you ignore the very busy road directly in front. Paid Parking adjacent £7.10 for 24hrs

Well! Apparently under new ownership so trying new things which included us arriving to blaring decks music which depending on what time we returned after dining out would definitely be finished. Not a great start either when we waited ages in a miserable cubby hole of a reception area to check in. Should have walked straight back out and found somewhere else. Rooms are awful, ours No8 stunk of sewage in the bathroom and the rising smell of weed from outside. The bed was broken and when we lifted the disgusting stained mattress up the slats had come off the base. The room hadn't seen a hoover or duster in quite some time tho the bed sheets and towels were clean. Room locks iffy and when our friends pushed their door the frame moved 2 inches. I would advise concentrating on the pub enterprise and forgetting letting rooms unless you have bottomless pockets to completely refurb the uneven, squeaking floors, grotty carpets throughout, the en-suites with missing tiles, mould stained grouting and open pipe works from the toilet. The flat packed furniture and mattresses all need binning. There was a kettle - still full of green water? some of us had the makings of drinks and biscuits, others not. To be fair the music had finished when we returned at 11.30pm.

The room was awful, huge damp patch on the wall, almost every strip of wall paper was peeling off on one wall, no hot water from sinks, and the shower unit fell off the wall,

room was dirty needed a good hoovering chair was falling apart, The TV contrast was off I managed to amend it The bed was very low but o.k . No Breakfast but the Witherspoon is only 2 mins away..

The hotel has a good location on the river and near the city centre. The shower worked okay.

When I arrived I thought I had come to the wrong place as techno music blared out so loud it could be heard two streets away. The bar downstairs looks rough and certainly had attracted a rather undesirable crowd, some of which were smoking cannabis openly on the street outside. Once I found where to check in the guy on reception told me that they were having a music festival and that the ‘music’ would finish at 10pm. I think that is what he said anyway- it was so loud it was hard to hear! To be fair, it did stop pretty much spot on 10pm, but holding such an event when you are renting out hotel rooms is a really bad idea (unless you’re only taking guests attending the event perhaps?). Going out for dinner and returning back I didn’t feel particularly safe with the crowd gathered outside, for a female it would probably be worse. Inside the hotel is in a terrible state. There were patches of damp visible on the walls and ceiling in the room, the carpets and skirting boards looked dirty and there appeared to be mould around some electric sockets in the hallways. I didn’t try to use the TV in the room, but it seemed to have only one leg and was leaning against the window. I’ve traveled extensively in four continents and this was probably the most disappointed I have been with accommodation booked and the first time I’ve really felt unsafe.
