Lack of an elevator

Peppers Craigieburn is a charming manor, loved the complimentary tennis, golf and billiards. Location is excellent, and parking is easy. The rooms and amenities are clean and well kept.

Regrettably, the accommodation really didn't represent value for money. I had not unreasonable expectations and sadly they weren't met. The rooms are very dated, chipped paint and old worn furniture. The room had 2 double beds pushed together (the old fashioned style!) And the middle gap made the bed more uncomfortable than it already was. The bathroom was small with the basin being tight and pokey, no room for toiletries bags. Towels were old and thinning. The breakfast was another disappointment. The bain maries did not keep the food warm, and coffee was self serve Nespresso machine with no non-dairy milk options. I had truly hoped for a lot more given the price and the 4.5 star rating. Really wanted to love this hotel but unfortunately can't say that I would rebook any time soon.

The gardens at the front are beautifully kept and it is a good spot in the Southern Highlands.

We stayed in one of the petite rooms. It was basically subterranean. Whilst some of the decor has been updated the room was dated and musty. Felt very dark and shabby. The bathroom was comical small. A slightly lager then average person would actually struggle to fit. The room felt like a converted storage room. Had breakfast at the property because it was included but food was very limited - think the kitchen couldn’t keep up with demand. The tables need a good clean. So disappointing as we were hoping for a romantic relaxing get away.

This was not my first stay so I had expectations which were met. Without wanting to sound pompous, there's a very "genteel/old world" feel which I find relaxing I appreciated those great lounge areas with the fires It just worked for me as a lone traveller

Golf equipment was old and ratty

Charming old house, many smallish rooms, but containing everything needed. We requested a balcony which gave a view across the beautiful garden and golf course. Stunning garden.

No lift. Steep stairs and lengthy corridors to carry luggage to room. On arrival, no explanation given as to how to arrange dinner. No information in room. Lucky to get a table, the meal was excellent.
