Spent two nights at Hotel Phoenix in September - it was great. Very nice, quiet hotel and short walk from the train station. Several very nice restaurants are close by that, being on the other side of the river from the town center, are a little off the well beaten path and so are likely not as crowded. The hotel has a deal with the fitness center next door that guests can use their facilities, which are extensive - you just have to ask the front desk and they will let you in. We also enjoyed sitting the lounge drinking a lass of wine in from of the fire.

Great breakfast! Beautiful location, staff was super helpful and gave great recommendation’s. Very clean, great balcony! We loved it!

We spent a few days here in early September. The room was amazing. We had a balcony view of Matterhorn. Only reason we would rate the room a little lower was the shower was too small, we constantly turn the water off or cold when we moved. The rest of the room and bathroom were perfect. The front desk service was amazing and super helpful. The breakfast was very good, and again the service was great. FYI, if you have a lot of bags, (we didn't) and are walking from the train station (we did) you must go up a steep hill to get to hotel. We would stay there again. Really enjoyed the hotel.

Did not like the tiny bottles with shampoo etc so much.

The desk staff was extremely helpful (ie power converter, 2 extra pillows, dinner choices) breakfast included. One think to remember going to and from Zermatt- gas vehicles such as private coach can only reach to town south of Zermatt, Tasch. So when leaving you need to talk the train 1 stop to reach your connection. Hotel was great
