The Phoenix Hotel Zermatt

We stayed at Phoenix Hotel for two nights. It’s conveniently positioned but in a very quiet area. The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. The staff were v friendly and a highlight was the breakfast which was fresh and generous! Overall a great place to stay when in Zermatt!

We ( 2 couples ) stayed in Matterhorn view rooms which did not disappoint. The rooms were spacious, well appointed with modern bathrooms, together with fantastic views of the mountain. The hotel is in a quiet area with an easy walk to restaurants, station, etc. The breakfast buffet was excellent with hot and cold choices The staff were friendly, efficient and offered good suggestions regarding the Gornergrat train options. A great choice if planning to stay in Zermatt.

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Phoenix during a quick jaunt to Zermatt. The rooms are clean, comfortable and all have a nice balcony. The hotel owners and staff were very helpful with suggestions for excellent trail running loops. Breakfast includes a full spread.

My fiance and I stayed at Hotel Phoenix for 2 nights during the last week of May 2025. We had a wonderful stay! The room and the entire hotel was very clean and the staff was phenomenal. They were extremely friendly, provided us with recommendations of hikes to do in the area and the best time to do things best on the rapidly changing mountain weather. The breakfast was excellent as well. Only thing to note, like many Swiss hotels in the mountains, there is not any air conditioning. Our stay was perfectly fine as the weather was very cool, but you may need to open a window if you'd like some air movement. Highly recommend this hotel!

A very good hotel with everything you need to have a great stay. If you want a full view if the Matterhorn choose a corner room otherwise it's a case of leaning slightly over your balcony in many cases. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were exceptionally clean

We could see the Matterhorn from our room. It was located close to restaurants and the train station. The breakfasts were delicious! So much to choose from.

There wasn’t a thing that we didn’t like about the Phoenix.
