White Grass Ocean Resort & Spa

Un petit coin de paradis très zen. La végétation est magnifique, les bungalows confortables, l'environnement paradisiaque, apéro au coucher de soleil top ! Le personnel est très gentil, la carte des repas change tous les jours donc très agréable (et il y a un menu pour les enfants). Pas loin de l'aéroport donc pratique. Organise les différentes excursions pour l'île de Tanna. Il y a un super snorkeling juste devant et un autre à 10 min à pied. On a passé de supers moments avec les enfants!

Bien sûr l’emplacement et la vue, le jardin et la salle de restaurant mais aussi l’extrême gentillesse et l’efficacité du personnel de l’hôtel ou de ses sous-traitants.

Une petite remarque: les marches en carrelage pour rentrer dans la piscine sont glissantes donc dangereuses

Schön angelegte Anlage, gutes Essen (zwar wenig Auswahl aber unterschiedliche Angebote) Frühstück in Buffetform war ok, Sonderwünsche gegen Aufpreis.

Vulkantour sehr teuer (140 € p.p.). Wir sahen beim ersten Besuch wegen schlecht Wetter fast nichts und über die Wiederholungsoption (reduzierter Eintrittspreis) wurde uns nichts gesagt. Hier gab es wenig Unterstützung vom Resort, erst nach längerer Diskussion wurde uns ein Angebot gemacht.

This is an amazing little resort just 5 minutes from Tanna airport. The property (15 bures) is staffed by a great team of locals some of whom live on-site during the week. They are very professional and once you get chatting are super friendly and funny. Edith greeted us upon arrival - she provided very detailed information on the resort activities, tours, food etc. We did the blue cave and kastom village tour through Whitegrass - highly highly recommend the latter (Lakalangia swing forest cultural tour). This was the highlight of our entire Vanuatu trip, even over the volcano. The bures are very comfortable with the ceiling fan more than enough to keep you cool (I was initially worried about the lack of AC before booking). Shower and hot water are very good. The WiFi is great considering the remote location - strong enough to have a 30 min FaceTime audio and download tv shows on Netflix. The food is simple yes but very tasty - there is an a la carte menu for veggies/kids but choice centres really around 3 changing ‘specials’ for lunch and a new 3 for dinner. The snorkelling off the jetty is excellent for strong swimmers and there are 2 blue holes for those less experienced. The guys in the dive shop were helpful with recommendations when we borrowed fins/masks. We enjoyed the pétanque, golf, and cycling to the black beach even if the equipment was pretty outdated.

We loved the ni-Vanuatu staff but weren’t as impressed with the European hotel manager. Though this was probably tainted by the fact that they forget to collect us from the airport despite agreed pickup which meant we had to wait for 45 minutes. Yes some equipment needs replacing (only left handed golf clubs, bikes pretty knackered) and lunches are basic but this is understandable given the location.
