"Will stay again"

Fully Covid - 19 compliant. Check in was easy and the rate was excellent. Room was ample for one person with a fantastic en-suite bathroom. Food served for evening and breakfast could not be faulted. The steak was very tasty and priced well.

"Could try harder..."

8.0

This is a nice old country pub in the village of Adderbury. It has been sympathetically updated. However, the room I was given was tiny and quite claustrophobic. The shower and sink area were equally non-conducive to cat swinging. I had dinner and breakfast in the pub and both were underwhelming. The dinner menu was basic pub fare with little originality or flare. The breakfast was OK but luke warm and the poached eggs overcooked. The beer was well kept, but I was disappointed that a Greene King pub didn't serve Abbott Ale. My overall impression was that the accommodations and food were OK but overpriced, and there are better options nearby.

"Fabulous stay at the Red Lion"

10.0

We loved our stay at the Red Lion! We were looking for a halfway point to enjoy dinner and an overnight stay before continuing north the next morning and we were so impressed by the both the Red Lion and the village itself. A fabulous building with lots of character, plenty of parking , and we had a beautifully decorated & spacious room (complete with comfy bed and high quality bed linen). The restaurant has a great menu and we enjoyed chatting away to some of the locals who were there to enjoy the Friday fish & chip special! The staff were all very welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. And if you get time, go for a wander around the village - there is a footpath to the lake just around the corner from the pub. We really contemplated moving to the village - one day!

"Pleasant stay"

Pub and room were lovely. Clean and cosy. Breakfast included in our stay wasn’t the best and service was slow but luckily we weren’t in a rush!
