The fan outside the bathroom window which went off and on constantly and kept me awake

Clean & comfortable room, and although small and basic was a good price (approx £80 or NZ$200). The stairs and narrow hallway can be a killer but given it is a historic building all good. Had free parking and excellent pub restaurant, which seemed really popular. There is also a very nice Wetherspoons just up the road (2min walk) and the Tewksbury Abbey (just over the road) well worth a visit.

Toilet didn’t flush properly couldn’t use the wardrobe/cupboard as smell was unacceptable noise from mains water pipe running through the room woke us up through the night Disco was ridiculously loud nor were we advised there would be one and no one available on check out to let our feelings known will not be returning any time soon overall experience very disappointing.

The breakfast was the only good thing about this place.

Only two places in the car park for disabled people, too many private spaces. Room was too small, no air conditioning only a portable fan which was quite noisy, bar menu was very poor, not a lot of choice for a lunchtime,bar staff were very impatient when we were making our choices, room was too dated. Our room was changed from 27 to 7, …I can only assume that was because we were only staying 1 night because that is all we could get, and therefore we got the dregs.

Great location next to the abbey. Delicious food and very friendly staff.

Really nice food, great staff, lovely environment.would recommend to everyone. Thank you again for helping reunite me with the item I left at my table as well - I’m so grateful!

I've stayed before so I knew more or less what to expect.

The room was seriously overpriced at £90 with no breakfast. Last time I paid less and breakfast was included. The decor is dated and shabby. There was a crack in a window pane and the bathroom washbasin. The staff have a cautious, defensive air and I was checked in as though I was a vegetable delivery. This finished with a curt 'any questions?' as if I'd just been issued my instructions for the evening. This is not the fault of the staff. I'm a fan of Greene King on the whole. But this is a cynical exercise in making an old property compliant as cheaply as possible and then charging top dollar for it.
