Old Manse Hotel Bourton by Greene King Inns

Staff at the Manse hotel restaurant were good but one fella was exceptional, friendly and very helpful that was Simon. Made our dinning experience simply superb 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had a lovely family dinner. We really enjoyed the food. The staff are very nice. We are not sure of the chap who greeted us, but he was very friendly and helpful. Matt who served us was great and looked after us very well. Thank you all.

Arrived at the almost totally empty bar side of this hotel at 12.30 to find many tables reserved for 13.00. Asked if we could sit down until 13.00 or until the booking party arrived. To be informed that we couldn't because they might come early. That these tables were reserved for hotel guests. We are asked to leave the bar. Maybe they just didn't like us Maybe they just didn't want our money Maybe they should not have closed the other side of the restaurant so their guests could sit in there rather than in the bar. Very unhelpful.

Great overnight stay , we were in room 11 which was very spacious especially the bathroom which had bath and shower, nice comfortable bed. Food was very nice and nicely presented, on both our evening meals and especially the breakfast off the brunch menu. Big shout out to Simon who was very welcoming. All in all a very enjoyable experience. 👏👏👍

The hotel is in a great spot next to the river, local bars and coffee shops. The lady who checked us in Liberty was lovely and showed us our room.. First impressions of the staircase carpet seemed filthy and worn and our room wasn’t much better, nothing like the pics on website.. The bathroom was huge with a dated over the bath shower with shower curtain which when putting the shower on let all the water onto the floor.. We were in room 11 and like clockwork the kitchen fan below us came on every morning at 7.30 well into the evening making it noisy in our room, no chance of a peaceful afternoon nap, plus the creaky floorboards didn’t help.. The bar was nice and busy at times once my daughter waited 45 mins to get served, the bar tender was getting stressed and wasted time looking for someone to help rather than just getting people served.. We were sitting outside at the front with the dog and was feeding him a sausage, a holiday treat, to be told abruptly that food bought in from elsewhere could not be consumed in the garden, didn’t realise this would include the dog too.. This same staff member when we came back after an evening out and went to get a drink in the bar that we only had half an hour, this was just before 9pm which I thought was too early, almost seemed he didn’t want us there.. Overall I thought the hotel was expensive, not enough parking, dated, filthy outside and in and not enough staff to cope with demand which made them unhappy which reflected to the guests..

Nice location, the Bed was comfortable but the room was a bit noisy. The creaky floorboards outside room and the fans galing off all night. Breakfast was good, had better coffee though! Really friendly breakfast servace. Lifts would be usful addition as had wheelchair.

I booked around 6 months in advance and then called again a few weeks before my break to check we would have one of the repainted rooms (with walk in shower for the double room) I’d been told would be available. Upon arrival, the four of us in two rooms had been put in an annexe which we weren’t told about and which was poorly decorated with lots of stairs. The twin room was unsuitable for my elderly parents with low ceilings and both rooms had a shower over a bath that was so low down, it was impossible to stand under. The twin room in the annexe had a beam next to the low shower head over the bath that meant my parents were guaranteed to hit their heads there, even if they didn’t hit their heads on the ridiculously low doorway out of the room! We asked to move and were moved to the main building from the second night. Twin room 9 wasn’t too bad but double room 7 had a shower with a few thin pins of water coming from the head and which went from hot to cold very minute or two. There were also no shelves of any kind in the bathroom and the towel rail hung over the toilet. The staff at the old manse are very nice and offer great customer service but I wouldn’t recommend the accommodation for the price paid based on the rooms on offer.

At £17 something it wasn't cheap but I have to say that their signature BBQ burger was one of the best I've ever had.......

The hotel is a dump. Filthy carpet, dank, cramped bathroom. Bed was fine, sheets seemed clean. What I would expect from a cheap hotel in a developing country Spend a bit more for something better.

Could do with a bit of tlc but clean and comfortable
