Breakfast = poached eggs hard, bacon warm. Evening meal - one of meals returned twice as was not hot enough through -same dealt with and ok eventually
The bed was uncomfortable and creaked. Needed new mattress. Quite noisy at night, had to keep the window closed. Otherwise everything was very good.

Hotel and room very good. Very poor service in the restaurant, but to be fair they were under-staffed. Management should review staffing given it was a Saturday night and they had a function on as well. Queues at the bar were ridiculous and although we were having a meal, we still had to go and queue up to get drinks. Many different meals were brought through to our area which were not for any of the tables there!

Room was seriously have hot... Not in decor but in heat. This must be a known problem as there were two fans in the room. Retro-fit aircon maybe needed? Check in and evening meal staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast waitress surly. Bunching people into a tight area. Why do hotels do this? More for the convenience of staff than customer comfort. We asked to sit somewhere with more space. Obliged but very surly. "Well it's not laid". Second couple experienced the same wrath. (Overheard them say "she must have got out the wrong side of the bed"). Staff make venues... We would stay again as room, location and breakfast are good for the money. Let's hope the breakfast server is off duty next visit.
It took 15 minutes to get someone to check me in. The wifi is poor. Worst, the night I was there, they had an Elvis impersonator playing downstairs, so sleep was impossible. (To be fair, the music stopped at precisely midnight.)
No one at reception , eventually found a note pushed put of view to ring a number. Personal dealings good. Wi-Fi impossible to use , shower didnt work and pillows awful. Truly an historic hotel.
