Very friendly helpful staff in very difficult (HOT) circumstances. The location is brilliant. The restaurant was air conditioned, which was essential (the rooms were not - phew!!). Great to have a car park so central. Plus - it was the only pub/hotel not showing the football - a real bonus.

The toilet paper is terrible - bring your own! A lot of stairs for an elderly couple. Not their fault; nor was the steamy temperature of the room during a mega heatwave.

It was very warm. A fan was provided, but leaving the curtains drawn would have helped keep the room cool. Some people may not like walking into a dark room, but I am very practical and anything that helps is great!

Large size of room. Comfortable bed.

Room, especially bathroom far too hot (towel rail in bathroom cannot be turned off and this results in a temperature of 40C +). Furniture is "vintage" aka shabby and uncomfotable. Rooms on the front of the hotel are very noisy from 04:30. Staff responses not helpful. Minimal comfort items e.g. no tissues, plastic water glasses. Overall appearance of building is tired and needs a significant updating. Beware, the photos of the Superior Double Room on the Booking.com site are nothing like the reality of the room we were allocated!

Breakfast very good. Staff all pleasant

Cold shower as no hot water🥶luckily it was hot weather so really not too bad.
