Intense heat on the top floor, (28c at night when cooler otside), no phone in the room to connect with the reception, no possibility to get fresh air from outside, useless fan, boiling towel rail which was never switched off although we asked for it

Location was what we wanted as we have stayed there before. The bedroom was nice and spacious as was the bathroom. Continental breakfast was very good. My cooked breakfast was very nice. but my wife's poached eggs were very overdone and the bacon poor. Staff very nice and would have replaced.

The hotel is very old (1735) so had lots of character but a bit dated. There were very steep steps up to our room. There is no lift. My wife's poached eggs were very overdone and the bacon poor. Staff very nice and would have replaced.

our room 26, is a little tired looking, small TV, dirty windows to the side, was reasonable value for what we got but just needs some updating

I have stayed at this venue a number of times before and returned because l knew that it was a nice and comfortable place with a very good breakfast.
