"Unforgettable Stay at CERVO Mountain Resort"

10.0

We had a truly wonderful experience at CERVO Mountain Resort! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The weather was perfect, which made the already breathtaking view of the Matterhorn even more magical. The resort itself is beautifully designed and ideally located just a short walk from the village...conveniently accessible by an elevator. We were warmly greeted at the train station by a kind porter, which set the tone for the rest of my stay. The staff at CERVO were incredibly professional, friendly, and genuinely kind. They made every interaction feel personal and warm. The room was spotless, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable, clearly maintained with great attention to detail. Great spa activities and super friendly head barista who made us fancy coffee. Thank you CERVO team!

"Dark, Depressing, far from center"

4.0

If you want a dark and depressing hotel, then Cervo is your place. We checked out this morning and I couldn’t be happier leaving that place. They claim they are a 5 star hotel but they are not, they are a 3 star hotel. We stayed in 5 star hotels all the time, we just stayed at Bauer au Lac in Zurich and Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken. Those are 5 star hotels. Rooms are dark (bedroom is light with good views). Bathroom is so dark, I had to use my cell phone flashlight every time. Living room is useless. Amenities are very weak. Nothing worked properly in the room. Tv didn’t work, we let front desk know but no action. The tablet was not working properly. Breakfast included but my God worst breakfast ever. The buffet is in a dark room like a dungeon. You feel like you are having breakfast in jail or captivity. Dark room you can’t even see. Their breakfast items are a joke. I suggest the owners travel to Victoria Jungfrau and have breakfast there and learn a thing or two. 2 sliced apples is NOT considered fruits for breakfast. Their Italian restaurant is also bad. It has good views of Matterhorn but our pasta was so al dente we couldn’t eat. Staff is amazing. This review does not reflect on anything the staff did. They were kind and accommodating. I would not stay there ever again and I will not recommend that hotel. Oh it’s also far from center of the city. It’s a long walk there, about 15 min. I know it doesn’t sound as bad but once you hike for hours and you are dead tired or being on your feet all day then walking uphill for 15 minutes is last thing you want to do. Wish them luck but please do not market yourself as a 5 star hotel. It’s a 3 star hotel.

"Un servicio muy especial!"

10.0

For me a special place full of memories: My parents took me to Zermatt when I was a child, and I still remember the breathtaking landscape and the nice moments we spent near the Matterhorn. Coming back years later with my wife has been forever a dream. The guest agent recommended some beautiful hiking routes in advance, servicio muy especial!! Next Summer at cervo mountain resort is allready in the calendar, see you then!

"Absolutely Perfect"

10.0

My stay at CERVO Mountain Resort was truly exceptional from start to finish. Everything was perfect – from the seamless check-in to the warm farewell. The breakfast was a standout: fresh, beautifully presented, and featuring a wide variety of high-quality local and international options. It was the perfect way to start each day while enjoying stunning mountain views. The staff were outstanding – incredibly attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile. They made me feel genuinely welcome and taken care of throughout my stay. The location couldn’t be better. Nestled right on the mountain, the resort offers breathtaking views and easy access to both the slopes and the heart of Zermatt. Whether you’re skiing, hiking, or just relaxing, everything you need is right at your doorstep. I can’t recommend CERVO highly enough – it’s the perfect alpine escape. I’ll definitely be coming back.

"The Best Place"

10.0

I stayed there from April 16th to 21st, and on April 17th, a severe snowstorm began that brought the entire village and surrounding region to a standstill. In Valais, exceptionally large amounts of snow fell; many roads and railway lines were closed, including important connections like the Simplon Pass and the Visp–Zermatt route. Several communities were left without electricity, the mobile network only worked intermittently, and all schools were closed. The authorities even declared a “special situation” because of avalanche danger, falling trees, and flooding, which made things even more difficult. Numerous emergency services worked around the clock to secure infrastructure and repair damages. Despite these extreme circumstances, I was absolutely thrilled! The entire team truly went above and beyond to make the best out of the situation. Everyone was incredibly helpful and provided excellent service to the guests despite the challenging conditions – it was simply amazing! I have great respect for this and would like to sincerely thank everyone involved. Even aside from this extraordinary effort, the hotel is absolutely recommendable: The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the facilities leave nothing to be desired, and the breakfast is excellent. The location is ideal, and the whole atmosphere makes you feel at home right away. Overall, this is a hotel that impresses with quality, service, and attention to detail – I would come back anytime!

"Unsanitary, unprepared, and absolutely unworthy of five stars."

2.0

Unsanitary, unprepared, and absolutely unworthy of five stars. I stayed at Hotel Cervo in Zermatt with my sister from April 14 to 20. We chose it because it claimed to be a five-star alpine retreat. What we got instead was discomfort, poor hygiene, and a hotel completely unprepared for real-life situations. On April 16, a snowstorm knocked out power across town. That part wasn’t the hotel’s fault — but what shocked us was how unprepared Cervo was. No generator, no lighting, no heat, no hot water, no real communication. We spent three full days without electricity, heating, or warm water. Even after most of Zermatt was up and running again by April 17 — hotels, shops, restaurants — Cervo was still in blackout. Hot water never came back at all. My sister tried to wash her hair but had to stop — the water was too cold to even tolerate. That alone would’ve been enough to ruin the trip. But then came the food. It seemed average, nothing clearly spoiled, but I felt unwell after nearly every meal. And then it became clear: one morning we walked into the buffet and saw mice running around the food area. Two of them were even mating near the bread. We told a staff member. The only response we got was: “It’s nature.” No concern. No apology. No action. Just a shrug, in the middle of what was clearly a health violation. At that point, everything added up. The discomfort after meals, the feeling that something was wrong — it all made sense. And what made it worse was knowing it could’ve been prevented. This wasn’t just bad luck. It was negligence. I will be formally challenging this hotel’s five-star status. Because what we experienced doesn’t come close. For the price we paid, and the reputation this hotel promotes, the reality was unacceptable. I would not recommend Cervo to anyone — especially not to travelers who value hygiene, safety, or basic service standards.

"no electricity, no hot water and no mouse in the dining room"

2.0

💔 If you’re a mom reading this — please don’t risk it. Our stay at Hotel Cervo in Zermatt (April 14–20) was one of the most stressful and heartbreaking experiences we’ve ever had as a family. We came with our 11-year-old son, expecting something truly special. We paid 12,000 CHF for what was supposed to be a luxury five-star retreat. Instead, it felt like survival. On April 16, a snowstorm hit and power went out across town. Locals told us this happens nearly every April — but the hotel had no generator, no plan, no support. We had no electricity, no heating, and no hot water for three full days. And hot water never came back for the rest of our stay. I couldn’t even wash my hair. The water was painfully cold. I had to help my son shower in freezing water while he stood there shivering and begging me not to make him do it. I kept a calm face, but inside I was panicking. I’ve never felt so helpless on a trip. Then came the food. It tasted fine, but I felt uneasy after every meal. I didn’t understand why — until one morning we walked into the buffet and saw mice running across the food stations. Two of them were even mating near the bread. I felt physically sick. When we told the staff, they said: “It’s nature.” That was the entire response. Not even an apology. This isn’t nature — this is unsanitary and unacceptable, especially in a place that calls itself five-star. By April 17, other places in town had power back — we had to walk to a hotel 200 meters away just to charge our phones. Meanwhile, Cervo stayed dark and silent, as if nothing was wrong. I spent most of the week trying to keep my child warm, protect his health, and hide the fact that I was close to tears. Please, don’t make the same mistake we did. Cervo looks beautiful online, but if anything goes wrong, you’re completely on your own. There is no care, no responsibility, and no one looking out for you. Just stay away.
