Flexistay Ambers Gatwick Aparthotel

Our family of four stayed a few days in two rooms at Flexistay Gatwick. It was a good value for a budget hotel. It is conveniently located near Gatwick Airport. The rooms size was good, yet the bathrooms were small. The rooms and facilities were very clean, yet the bathrooms had some mildew. Management should look at bleach or re-grouting the shower walls. We enjoyed that there was a spacious common area with tables and a shared kitchen. The kitchen was very equipped for us to cook breakfast, which the Aparthotel provides - eggs, bacon, toast, cereal, fruit, teas and coffee. We enjoyed actually making our own breakfast just the way we liked it. The check in was very easy. The hotel staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Internet was also great.

Know that this is a self-check-in motel. We were not expecting this, so it was very surprising to find all of this out when we arrived around midnight from a late flight. The community kitchen and dining area were very nice and better than I would expect for a place like this, however. For the smallest/cheapest bedroom options, know that you are sharing a bathroom and shower with the neighboring guests in your hallway. For the private room, we stayed in (the cheapest option), you will only have a small room with a bed, desk, wood closet, and a nightstand. Very little standing space. It is ok for a single traveler on a layover flight, but make sure you arrive with these expectations.

Agreement on booking with Expedia to pay on arrival only to find out they charged c/c before I arrived. I had no intention to pay with this card but hotel decided I would. Completely unprofessional.

Really clean. The freakfast was excellent event dough it has to prepared by you. Overall it was a good experience for us.

We stayed here for one night with our 7 month old son after our flight into Gatwick. We hadn’t received any check in information so rang the intercom for assistance, and after few minutes a gentleman answered, but it was so quiet I could barely hear what he was saying. We finally got into the building and got our key, only to find we’d been placed in a room upstairs, not ideal when you have a baby, and this was noted on our booking. On entering the room, I nearly told my husband to turn around and get back in the car, I was shocked! The room was filthy, with stains and marks up practically every wall. The wallpaper in places was coming off and there were holes in the walls. One of the window locks was broken off and lying on the window sill, so it couldn’t be closed and was freezing! The shower was mouldy and the light inside was hanging off, which was a complete electrical hazard. I couldn’t wait to leave but as it was late and our son needed to go to sleep, it would have to do for one night. Although the communal kitchen and sitting area were well stocked, I would not recommend staying here.

This is s convenient and well equipped place, with a great kitchen and food on offer. Someone was pleasantly available at checkin. However, the wifi cut out for the evening and morning which was inconvenient, and despite speaking to someone it was not fixed.

The shower water could not be regulated. It started freezing and then got scalding hot and stayed that way. There weren’t any workers at the hotel our entire stay. We set checked in. It is a self serve , cook and clean up your own breakfast.

Our room was very basic and small. Bathroom was seperate. Lots of noise from the road and the room was really cold.

Easy access to the Gatwick Airport for a early flight out.
