Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay - Luxury - Adults Only - All Inclusive

after visiting other hotels in Negril on previous holidays, Secrets Wild Orchid didn't even come close, the 7 mile beach in Negril is fantastic, the beach at Secrets was crowded no where to walk just stuck there, the junior suite was nice, shower didn't work properly, ants in room, air con like a freezer even when temperature turned up, had to request the room be cleaned after 3 days of being there, speciality restaurants repeat same set menu with very few choices, not great if you don't like fish. the bars never had cold cans, some guests tried to buy some. Certain staff members so rude and unhelpful made you feel bad for asking. fridge was meant to be restocked, had to keep ringing to request this. room service menu had barely any items available, building site next to our room, 2nd week of our stay, workmen would be sitting around & looking at us whilst we sat on the terrace. The prices were disgusting in the gift shop on hotel site, fridge magnets double the price compared to airport. $495 for a couples massage at the spa. We've never paid that much at previous hotels. absolutely appalling place would never recommend. Our holiday was booked for a hotel we've been to previously & loved, but they was having building work done when we was due to be there, 6 weeks before due to fly so switched hotels, spent a good deal of time trying to find a match for match, we even paid extra for the switch thinking it was better. We could not of been more wrong, other guests said the same complaints we had.

Our stay at the Secrets Wild Orchid Resort was amazing! The resort was extremely well kept and the staff was amazing! Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be returning to this resort in the future!

I had an absolutely wonderful time. I took a impromptu mom and daughter trip just as life reset. The hotel was clean and the views were beautiful 😍. The entertainment was the best I've seen and I travel alot the ambience is peaceful and serene. The staff is excellent...super helpful and always smiling it's infectious. We will more than likely go back next year. Highly recommend Secrets Wild Orchard.

Me and my wife stayed here for a week,we booked preferred club though Tui . Pros 1st Great location,choice of restaurants brilliant , Beach and sea both tropical.some staff were helpful and others didn’t have a care in the world .gym great too which we used every day. Rooms were spacious and updated with a gorgeous bed. Cons Paid an extra £900 for preferred club which in my eyes was the most wasteful money we have ever spend. Suppose to be private beach which but everyone who didn’t pay for preferred club was there . Suppose to have a private pool just for preferred club but same again other people who didn’t pay was in it every day. Preferred club lounge was a dingy corner with basic/rubbery food . Spirits was a good selection but the mixtures they poured were flat always. This preferred club nonsense is a joke really told staff about this mixing with other guests but had no real reply.im not the one to complain about people but if we have paid nearly £900 to have peace and quiet then we neede it . I wish they had staff management doing there jobs on who can go to preferred beach,pool lounge . We had other small issues in our room which Regina the preferred club manager rectified. In my eyes save your money and stay in the normal secrets wild orchid side . Restaurants nice selection of them but the food was terrible. The only decent restaurant was the Jamaica one . We would stay here again but only on the normal side as we can probably get in to preferred club without any issues 😀

I rate the Wild Orchid as four out of five. What I will say is that we found almost all the staff to be cheery, polite and helpful. Be nice and you will get the same back! Location is great with a short transfer, and there is a properly private beach, so it is really safe, and there is excellent snorkelling straight off the beach. Yes, some of the hotel is getting a bit dated, but overall we had no issue. If I’m honest, it’s not a five star. Comparing to Excellence, Iberostar Grand, Even Bahia Principe, Wild Orchid misses some key necessities, such as Wine/Spirits in room, a proper Steak Restaurant, a proper Seafood Restaurant and they need to go a lot lighter on the upselling. I’m already into this holiday for 5k and I don’t want to pay a $50 supplement for a steak or lobster, or to pay extra to use a beach cabana, nor do I appreciate a constant stream of people being paraded through the preferred area to promote the Unlimited Vacation stuff. This was our second visit and we went preferred this time just to see. We enjoyed the peace of the preferred area compared to the noise at the main pool and that was worth the extra to us. Apart from a bath on the balcony the rooms are pretty much the same as non preferred unless you pay for swim out or presidential upgrades, which also get you a butler if that is your thing. Preferred gives you access to restaurants and bars at Breathless, which was a worthwhile extra. The Preferred bar and lounge were great too! Would we go again? Probably not. But only because you can get a better offering for the same price elsewhere. We loved the Secrets vibe and the easy location and the staff were awesome, but this is a very competitive market and Hyatt must step up if they want to play ball with the other hotel groups in this price range. Top tip? Take portable fans. There isn’t any air con in the restaurants and evenings can be pretty hot!

Staff was incredibly rude. It ruined my trip. I’ve wrote about it in other surveys. It was unbelievable. I’ve never been treated the way I was treated there.
