Classic Lodges - Farington Lodge

Excellent staff, very curteous. Beautifully presented room and staff couldn't do enough to ensure you had a great stay.

Lovely spacious room with very comfy bed . All very polite and friendly staff.

Room was a little tired and needed updating, particularly the bathroom however the service, breakfast and overall stay was great.

Arrived at reception about 14.40pm, but room not ready so had to wait until 15.20pm. Room was ok but very hot so had to turn of all radiators. Breakfast was very good.

The property benefits from ample parking and quiet surroundings. The staff in the breakfast room and at the check in where extremely polite. However, the hotel is stuck in the past. From old fashion televisions which probably still utilise ceefax/telefax to old furniture and ancient carpets These things are not that crucial but the heating in the room (which was not on and was extremely cold outside) and soap in the bathroom dispensers were however were not present. Also housekeeping is not longer a service they offer unless requested. So if you want your coffee facility replenished and your bed made in the morning or fresh towels … either go somewhere else or make sure to tell the hotel to do the basic hotel service every morning. None of this "downfalls" are reflected on the price as I paid £99 per night for an executive room ( still wondering what was executive about it other than the space).

Great Georgian architecture. Quite hotel in lovely grounds. Near to city centre and coastal towns. Staff made the hotel, they were welcoming, courteous, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and bright with a comfortable bed, but could do with updating and was shabby, which let the hotel down.

From Damien checking us in to Paul and Dean in the restaurant,a superb stay in Preston. Dinner in the evening was historic with Paul's unique warmth advising us to try the venison was a wise decision.Rhubarb creme brulé is to be recommended. Breakfast was equally as good with Paul's supervision again. Farington Lodge is a cut above the normal average Preston hotel fayre.Well worth a try.

Nice from the outside. Dated inside needs decorating new beds new bedding. Rooms could have been cleaner. The continental breakfast was very poor.

Great experience but signage to the hotel was terrible! We arrived at night in the rain and our gps took us to the wrong area. Apparently, this happens a lot. I would think the hotel should either address this or put up more signage to direct customers to the hotel entrance.

Nice hotel, lot's of attentive and chatty staff, large double room, decent eve food in the bar, great breakfast , will visit again
