Siripanna Villa Resort & Spa Chiang Mai -

We stayed here 5 years ago and it was excellent. We had an issue with our booking which was resolved by the manager. I wrote a good review for Agoda on day 2 of 3 based on the room which is excellent, the pool (good if cold), ok gym and decent breakfast (included with room price). However. The breakfast is the same every day. The buffet at 499TB was stone cold and made me ill, the prawns were horrible and probably defrosted. Don’t have the buffet! Staff were a mix of friendly and miserable. Staff including carers live in the accomodation and hang around the area under one of the blocks and look surly when you make eye contact. The resort has aged care guests on site with loud Chinese music in the mornings; they don’t mention this. For me it’s interesting as I work in the industry, but it’s nice to know. We made the mistake of ordering laundry of about 1.5kg t shirts and underwear which we could’ve had done at the corner laundry for 80TB and the resort scammed us $80 2100TB!!!! The manager said it was express even though wd didn’t ask for express it gets charged if after 10 an. It wasn’t after 10 am. Beers are expensive. They have outdated signs around with offers they don’t have, they honoured one after a lot of confusion. Buy beers at a place in the side road next to the hotel for 60TB or pay 190 inside. The location is ok and 100TB Grab to the city, 200 to airport. Nowhere to walk or anything around the resort but it’s quiet. Grounds are nice. Overall we won’t come back as it want as friendly and welcoming as other Thai stays, the food was plentiful but mediocre and the buffet bad. We felt ripped off by the laundry which cost more than a nights stay!!! It’s a shame it could be excellent but 2 is a balanced review.

Please, I kindly ask… “the hotel needs a lot of work” it’s depressing! It needs a loving hand, needs sanitation, I wonder if the aircon has ever been serviced, it’s so loud that you don’t wake up to the sound of nature … or maybe you do; the mozzies are very annoying, the restaurant oh my! So beautiful but… the pool in the photos look WOW!, in person another story it needs treatment. The hotel is nice, the stuff I must say are beautiful, kind and friendly ready to go the extra mile for you but the hotel in general needs love!

I just returned from ‘Exotic Thailand’ trip with Wing Buddy and we had a great time. Most of the accommodation was wonderful and tour guides were excellent. We stayed at Siripanna hotel and most others in our group were at Kantara Hills hotel. Our hotel had green, unusable pools, overgrown property, and uncomfortable beds. The buffet never had business so likely not changed so we did not eat there. First day the cleaner did not make beds. Staff very friendly but hotel dated and run down. We tried to contact Wing buddy for assistance but messages were not returned. I would suggest that you not use this hotel. We have used Wing buddy many times and this has been our only issue with accommodation so expect it was an anomaly. Lack of swimming facility was a major issue given 40 degree heat.

Great property, amazing staff. Pool was closed the first couple days and the water wasn't clear (didnt end up using the pool). A little far from center of town, and hard to hail a taxi or tuk tuk. recommend a ride share app if staying here. Breakfast is good, many options. definitely recommend.

The entire hotel is poorly maintained. Toilet bidet in the room cannot be off as water sprayed around. AirCon remote was very poor with difficulties to control, the power to the room was always faulty because the entrance key card contact was too poor and therefore I concluded that this hotel is overly rated.

It's a very quiet and clean place to stay.

Stayed for a few nights a month ago during our trip. Upon first arrival I had high hopes for this place. Rooms were not ready when we arrived and our bags sat in the lobby for 5 hours unattended. We were here for a romantic retreat and were put in the S loft, a concrete box suitable for partying but 100% not romantic at all. The air-conditioning was very very loud. The rooms were clean. The grounds are pretty large and unkept. There is what appears to be multiple restaurants thorough out the complex however they are never open. The only one was the main one. The photos of the dinner buffet look really good however every single part of it was a disappointment. All the food was bland and our friends seafood bbq order was lost 3 times even though we were the one of maybe 3 groups in there. The manager stepped in and tried to make it good but just served uncooked seafood. Dont waste your money at this dinner buffer. This place sooo much potential. However the main pool was slime filled and was covered with leaves. When we asked to use a pool skimmer we were told no. All sorts of areas where you can clearly tell there should be water were sitting empty for a long time. The paths are swept nicely but everything is just run down and either blocked off or closed. The prices of the massage in the hotel are outrageous and almost criminal compared to anywhere else in Thailand. And the staff were mostly nice other than my check-in issues. The surrounding area has limited services. There is laundry across the street and a couple of small shops down the street, and a bar that serves burgers. Closest 7-11 is 15 min walk across the tracks, or 30 towards the river. I spent my nights wandering talking with locals and just down the street there are a couple shops that sell some cheap Chang beer and are really nice once you break the language barrier. Overall this place has soo much potential but its overshadowed with many many flaws. I would not recommend this place unless you lower your expectations from what the website and photos show. Also beware of many many stray dogs in the area (especially towards the river and main square) they can get pretty aggressive in the evening and nights. Rooms Rooms are either in the S Loft which is a sporty concrete box. Or Very dated but quaint and romantic older rooms. All rooms have hard beds. Very firm, might just be a Thai thing as it was the same at all resorts we stayed. Nearby activities Not a ton, if you head north that is the closest 7-11, there is a good vendor at the end of the street by the bend. Safety Watch for dogs at all time but especially in the evening, they get very aggressive, but can be scared off pretty easily. I felt safe everywhere I walked. Food & drinks Overpriced and underdelivered. Buffets were lackluster and inedible. Breakfast was reasonable. Noteworthy details NOT A 5 STAR PLACE Hotel highlights Quiet

We liked the resort feel.

Upon check-in, we walked around the property. The pool was lime green, and the plunge pools were almost as bad it’s rated at 4 1/2 stars they oversold I didn’t even complete my check in and found another hotel for me to say I was let down is an understatement.
