Beautiful 14th century manor house totally ruined by poor room design Our room was a garden room which you would expect to be light and bright ? Ceiling , walls , doors in fact everything was painted dark brown , dismal with no proper lighting except for little down lights that didn’t actually light anything I had to take the kettle to the window to pour water in the cups it was that dark No full length mirror , no natural light If you like a dark cave this one’s for you On a positive , the staff were lovely especially Jenny and Alaska

The area is lovely but the hotel is not. Room decor is very dark and gloomy Was kept awake whole night by noisy refrigerator Staff was extremely blase and unhelpful The lady who came to show me the room _ i asked her about the mattress topper as I wasn't sure it would be ok for my back. She said she would return soon but she didn't. She didn't know how the kettle worked and said she would find out and let me know, but didn't Reception was unmanned at 7.30 pm. No one picked up the phone Breakfast was a disaster. Staff staring continuously waiting for you to finish Plates very small, cooked food average. Croissants, bread was over anf6they didn't have any more!. Meagre jam and butter. Overall, stingy place, uncaring Staff, no one asked for any feedback Given the poor service cost is too expensive A big thumbs down -

Wonderful stay! The property, grounds and rooms were stunning. Fantastic location to explore the Cotswolds

We have stayed here numerous times for the Cheltenham Festival but never in the summer and it was delightful. The refurbished manor is beautiful and inspired. Our room was fantastic, the afternoon drinks and nibbles in the sun was amazing as was dinner and breakfast! The staff, as ever, are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery and gardens are spectacular! Highly recommended!!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so friendly The breakfast is absolutely delicious We came with our baby and was put in a room that was spacious and perfect for us The views are absolutely beautiful We highly recommend Charingworth Manor

The room was lovely and the staff were truly amazing. There is alot of renovations being done so not great but didn’t spoil our stay

The property and landscape were really good and the general staff were excellant. However i thought the Manager could have a better manner with the us the customers.

From the minute we arrived on the doorstep to the minute we left the staff where super attentive, friendly and helpful. From Katie and Laura on reception to Rob, Chris, Zoe, Batros in the bar and dining room, all could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable. The food was exceptional with the service to match. The hotel is set in a stunning location with easy access to local villages, towns and attractions in the Cotswolds. Sally and I cannot thank the team at Charingworth manor enough for a fantastic experience, and we look forward to returning later on in the year, and years to come. A special place.

The room was really nice apart from a few design flaws such as the tiny sink in the bathroom that splashes on the floor, the surround lighting not coming on and the tea/coffee cupboard being very difficult to open. It was also pretty noisy as well with the noise from upstairs coming through the walls a lot. A comfy bed though and the service was excellent from the staff. Even in very hot temperatures our room was fine but I know others really struggled with the heat as there is no air con. We had to borrow a fan from the kitchen on the hottest nights. One big downside we had was not knowing that the gym, pool and spa had been permanently closed before arriving with no prior notice. We would have almost certainly booked somewhere else if we knew in advance. Staff were very good about this though and gave us a discount. The food was a good standard but really lacked finesse for the prices charged. Breakfast was very good though and the staff made the difference throughout.

Disappointing…. ▪️Lack of adequate lighting in the room. The room was painted chocolate brown and there was no overhead lighting, just a table lamp, a couple of bedside lights and two spotlights directed at a blank wall. ▪️Heated towel rail that was in all night in sweltering heat ▪️No tissues ▪️Inferior toilet tissue (one had already been used by previous guests) ▪️Toilet roll holder in wrong position ▪️No towel rail near the washbasin ▪️No instructions as to how the TV works
