"Charming little 3-day getaway!"

10.0

This beautiful gem, just a three-hour drive away, is tucked inside the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The lodge sits on stunning grounds, right in front of a watering hole, the perfect spot to unwind and watch wildlife in their natural element. Our tented room was spacious, well-equipped, and offered all the amenities one could wish for. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a hot water bottle provided each night to keep the cold at bay. It was also a treat to watch giraffes and elephants right from the comfort of our room’s balcony, a truly magical experience. The service was excellent throughout, and the food did not disappoint. As it was my daughter’s birthday month, the restaurant staff went above and beyond to surprise her with a birthday song and cake. She’s always wanted to have that experience, and I’m deeply grateful to the team for making it happen. We also went on a game drive organized by the hotel. The driver was punctual, knowledgeable, and made every effort to ensure we saw as many animals as possible. Watching herds of elephants and rhinos up close was incredible, and spotting a lioness with her playful cubs was truly the highlight of our trip. The only tiny disappointment was missing the elusive cheetahs. On our last night, we were thrilled to see a herd of buffalo and a lone elephant visit the watering hole — the perfect ending to our stay. The only drawback was that our room was located towards the far end of the camp, a little removed from the watering hole and the restaurant. It was also wonderful to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and learn more about these fascinating animals and their stories. The work being done to protect and care for them is truly inspiring. Waking up to the sight of the majestic Mount Kenya in the distance was another highlight, a breathtaking sight. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience, and we’ll definitely be returning!

"Great property with even better service."

10.0

The property is beautiful and serene. It was raining the whole but that did not affect the experience. We were given umbrellas to walk around the property and the staff stuffed hot water bottles under the covers during turn down service.

The service was excellent. We had an amazing stay and the staff made the stay super seamless. They had breakfast open longer so we could eat after our game drive, they knew our coffee order even before we placed it. The guide who took us out on game drives was amazing and gave us a great experience of the conservancy, he went above and beyond to ensure that we saw everything we could. The manager of the lodge Elizabeth and her team; Benson, David and the rest were just spectacular. Thanks for making our stay incredible. We will definitely be back!

"Beautiful lodge"

10.0

We stayed at this camp for only one night on our 12 day safari. It is a large camp but the "cottages" are quite private. The meals are all buffet style. The walk to our cottage was beautiful. We stayed in 7 different lodges and our room at Sweetwaters was the fanciest. It had everything you could ever want in it. It was large and had a nice deck that looked out over the plain. The water hole is not visible from most of the cottages but is visible from the dining area. It was raining when we were there and we did not see any animals using the water hole. When we return on a future safari, we would extend our stay at this lodge.

"Marvellous and full of life!"

10.0

Sweetwaters was our second stop on our safari and it did not disappoint. Our tent was beautifully furnished with plenty of space and the views were stunning. The WiFi covered the tent, which was a bonus and enabled us to share the view with our family at home. The bar area was lovely, we sat outside initially and watched the animals and birds visiting the watering hole before moving inside to ensure the warmth of the fire. The food offering was vast compared to other places we stayed. In the evening there was a pasta station, I was hoping to eat more local food but the lure of pasta was too much; I think it was the best pasta I've ever had! The evening visitors outside the tent were an absolute delight to watch. Thank you to all of the team at Sweetwaters!

"Breakfast with the wildlife."

10.0

The accommodation, although described as a tent, is really far from the canvas setup you might imagine. It’s more like a good hotel room. It had a very comfortable bed, complete with a mosquito net (not really needed), and a hot water bottle service. The room had an excellent view out into the national park, where multiple creatures could be seen heading to the adjacent watering hole. You could sit within 15 metres of the watering hole and watch the wildlife drink which is a lovely experience. The camp is set in interesting grounds with plenty of bird life. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the buffet food was varied and tasty. The friendly serving staff were attentive but not too in your face.

"Pleasant surprise in the Ol Pajeta conservancy"

10.0

I recently escorted a group to Kenya on Safari and we spent 2 nights here. Although this is a larger property, the tents are well equipped, great showers and the views over the water hole were great. This property caters for larger groups, however the only time you notice this is at meals, otherwise the tents are spaced out nicely.

"Great dining choices and a very nice place to stay when visiting Ol Pejeta"

8.0

We stayed at the Moreni tents and we could see animals come to waterhole. Otherwise, you could see them from near the reception area and at dining. The buffet offered many choices and they were well prepared. The tents were roomy and the grounds were lovely. Our tent had hot water for the sink, but the shower was tepid. There was no mosquito net but we did not need it in August.
