You should not have to worry about any critters crawling around in your room or cottage. Not normal and not ok.

My first time visiting and i absolutely love it...

The room was filthy. The door to the room had a hole at the bottom right where insects can easily go in. The owner of the motel said to use a towel. Room was very dirty including the bed. I reserved a king size room and was given a 2 double bed room. I asked for another room and was told none was available. I asked for a refund and I was told no refund. I gave the owner the and left.

We enjoyed our stay! Small place but clean and cozy. Perfect for a long weekend at the beach for our family of 3. In walking distance of a beach access (across the road) and several restaurants and ice cream shops. Highly recommend!

The cabin was a perfect place to go to sleep after staying out all day on the beach. Close to Fat Boys for ice cream and some of our favorite restaurants. Although advertised as “soundproof walls” our experience was otherwise, could definitely hear our neighbors very clearly through the walls. No complaints, would stay there again with my wife on another long weekend on the Outer Banks!!

The location of this property is fantastic! The condition has much to be desired. Housekeeping doesn’t come during your stay. If you need garbage taken out you can ask with 24 hour notice but that didn’t even occur for us- it was the day after that. Staff are there during certain hours and you can serve yourself to additional towels, TP which is fine but I felt like the place was grimy. I realize that being next to the beach and the high humidity doesn’t help but the sand sticks to everything. You’re constantly sweeping and with no rugs there’s no where to actually get control of it so it ends up in bed. Large hairballs in closet. Stains on shower curtain. Surfaces were sticky. Dust buildup in all corners. Kitchen lacked an adequate trash can. Pictures of property showed a table with chairs but we didn’t have a table or chairs. We had a counter with too few barstools for who we registered in the cottage. No surfaces to put a suitcase or anything on really. Not enough places to hang towels which stinks when housekeeping only comes after the stay. No plug in next to sink/mirror. If your styling tools have a long enough cord you can plug in bathroom and wind around the door.

Dirty... Mold on walls, dried contact lens on the nightstand, as well as stains, property clearly had not been cleaned. Outside the hotel there was trash and debris. It felt so unsanitary, we ended up checking out about 45 minutes later and getting another hotel room.
