Mixed feelings - Positives: Welcome was warm, Great location for travelling to the new forrest, very comfy beds and a great bathroom. incident: Whilst we was staying we was not made aware dogs must be with you at all times (cannot be left in the room alone) which to be honest is completely fair as many hotels have this same requirement (not told this at any point) we visited the spa on sunday and when leaving realised we had a miss call and email from the hotel stating that the dog had been barking (again completely fair, although odd as he's travelled all over europe with us with no issues before) we naturally apolgised and headed straight back to the room. 5 minuets into being back in the room, we heard what can only be described as someone slamming a door which made our dog bark, this door slamming continued from 8pm - 1am and then restarted at 6:30 am to when we checked out. we hardly slept due to this issue and it really tainted our stay, due to lack of sleep. Upon investigating this we realised that it was not people slamming the doors it was just the low quality heavy fire proof safety doors installed by the hotel with no soft closing function (like everywhere else) Cons: Attitude of receptionist after the dog barked (female member of staff, the gentleman was great), cost of anything - Parking is outrageous, Breakfast is £20 for a buffet style, coffee close to £5. on the phone dog charge £10 in person charge £25. would not stay again due to the additional price point of the additional charges, needs to be a much higher standard of hotel to be charging what they do for food and drink especially so close to a historic town with 100's of options.

Good location

I used to like this hotel but this time was very disappointing, on arrival reception was unfriendly, parking is now charged at an extortionate £10 a night and the rooms are so hot you need the air con on but that’s like trying to sleep with a jet engine. Top that off with people in the room above I can only assume tap dancing at 2am and then 4am. Very disappointing.

Nothing ! It was first class

Very friendly staff, welcoming and so polite. Rooms very clean and well set up, hotel set away from the roads so a quiet nights sleep. Complimentary drinks in the mini bar was a lovely touch.

Popped in to use the gym/spa as a day guest, I was so impressed with the facilities and the spa manager Lauren I decided to join as a member, got a very warm welcome from Lauren and her team when I joined, they're all very professional and make you feel like a valued customer, after the gym I had a light snack at the bar where I met Sharon, yet another excellent helpful member of staff. If you're looking for a gym/spa membership I would highly recommend VOCO best in the area from my experience, well done guys!.
